On Sunday, September 15, New York City police officers shot live rounds at random into the L train at the Sutter Avenue station at the border of Brownsville and East New York, Brooklyn. They were pursuing a Black man who had allegedly skipped the $2.90 fare. They shot him and two unfortunate bystanders—one in the arm, one in the head.

On Wednesday, September 18, hundreds of people gathered at Union Square to carry out a mass fare evasion in response to this heinous attack.

Trumpism tries to divert concerns of working and poor people, degraded by decades of neoliberalism, corporate globalization, and austerity, by offering false solutions in the form of calls to violence and racist attacks on immigrants, people of color, LGBTQ folks, and the Left, in an effort to protect and strengthen the power of the ruling class.

So the origins of the grotesque lies about Haitian immigrants come directly from the neo-Nazi group Blood Tribe.

Blood Tribe, founded by esoteric Hitlerist loser Christopher Pohlhaus, is the group that's been marching around Ohio and other parts of the country with Swastikas and screaming "Sieg Hiel" and waving guns at immigrants while shouting at them to "go the fuck back to Africa".

So apparently Laura Loomer, JD Vance, and great replacement bandwagoner Charlie Kirk are the least racist players in this situation.

Blood Tribe member Drake Berentz, giving a racist pseudonym, even testified to the Springfield city council before being ejected.

It is noteworthy how much the dehumanizing, visceral elements of this edge on the ancient antisemitic trope of blood libel (beloved by neo-Nazis). Vance knows this. And these vicious lies about Haitian immigrants spread from Nazis on Telegram and Gab to Donald Trump on the presidential stage in about a week or so. The extent to which the MAGA dominant right is picking up what Nazis are putting down... let's just say the need for proper antifascist research and action is not becoming any less urgent.

Trump and the entire right-wing eco-system are working to push baseless racist conspiracy theories about Haitian people living in #Springfield, #Ohio. This is leading to bomb threats against local schools.

"Parents picked up their children early from two elementary schools in Springfield, Ohio on Friday, in response to information received from local police. The closures followed another early closure the day before, Fulton Elementary School, after it was named in a bomb threat inspired by social media rumors about the Haitian immigrants residing in Springfield. It was just one of many torments the city’s residents have faced since they became the unwilling subjects of a racist moral panic. This is not the first time serious threats have spawned out of the online media ecosystem surrounding former President Donald Trump and the broader MAGA movement, and it certainly won’t be the last."

While the neoliberal class within the Democratic Party panics following Biden's predictably disastrous performance, the real debacle lies with the authoritarian and draconian policies pushed by both candidates.

For decades, Biden has helped inflame the very conditions which immiserates life for poor and working people in the US: endless war, corporate globalization, stagnant wages, crippling inflation and sky-rocketing rents, an exploding ecological crisis, government crackdown on social movements, mass incarceration, and the militarization of the police.

Its growing anger at this reality that has allowed fascists like Trump - a billionaire backed by a growing section of the elites - to paint himself as a faux alternative to the neoliberal Center.

True to his racist core, Trump spent much of the debate defending the January 6th attempted coup and also blaming immigrant workers for inflation - which in reality is caused by price gouging corporations - who Trump wants to again cut taxes on.

As a record breaking heat wave hits the US and whole states go up in flames, poor and working-people struggle to make ends meet in the midst of this "great" economy. Meanwhile, both corporate parties seek to convince people they have the solutions to problems that they have helped create.

But the ruling class only seeks to manage this disaster - not get us out of it. In reality - our only hope lies in our ability to organize and fight back, building vibrant movements that can create and sustain new forms of life within this collapsing civilization of war, exploitation, and ruin.

Faith in the institutions is collapsing because they are being exposed for what they are. Let's work to make sure that what comes next builds power from below, not imposing it from above.
