😩 How it feels working the Friday after a Thursday public holiday...
That awkward mix of "I'm here" and "why am I here?" energy.
Anyone else running on coffee and pure willpower today?

🃏 Anime: Yu☆Gi☆Oh! Duel Monsters
🃏 Episode: 4
🃏 Characters: Honda (Tristan Taylor) & Anzu (Téa Gardner)

A scene from Yu☆Gi☆Oh! Duel Monsters Episode 4 showing Honda (Tristan Taylor) with a tired, unimpressed expression and a large sweat drop on his face, looking sideways at Anzu (Téa Gardner), who is speaking energetically with wide eyes. Their contrasting expressions highlight exhaustion and frustration—perfectly capturing the feeling of working the day after a public holiday.

Some really good advice coming from Ittetsu Sanada, and we have literally just met him.
I like him already.

Anime is storytelling, art, and emotion.
I’ve developed a dual-scale rating system, 5-star for episodes, 10-point for series, to reflect both immediate impact and long-term payoff.
Here’s how and why it works.

🧬 The Shiunji Family Children
Arata is holding this whole thing together. He’s such a refreshingly grounded romcom lead. Episode 2 really elevated the dynamic, especially with the Minami and Ouka side-stories weaving into continuity. And then Episode 3 goes full amusement park emotional chaos with Banri just eating up screen time like a drama queen.

It’s totally messy. But it knows it’s messy. And that makes it kinda fun to watch with popcorn.

🔮 Once Upon a Witch’s Death
This show had a rough start. The emotional beats in the first two episodes didn’t land as they should’ve. It was all so visually promising, but the emotional stakes were flat. Thankfully, Episode 3 turned things around! Inori is such a captivating character, and Meg finally started to feel real. The stinky-feet joke absolutely broke me, it was so dumb but so perfect. Episode 4 continued that growth too.

Also, Carbuncle and the owl... 10/10 would adopt immediately.

⚾ Catch Me at the Ballpark
This is my new “cup of hot chocolate” anime. It’s low-stakes but full of life and detail. The idea of focusing on support staff in a baseball setting is so fresh. Ruriko’s awkward sincerity is so endearing, I just want to cheer for her at every turn! The rotating character spotlights keep things from feeling stale, and the mascot MVP might be one of the season’s funniest yet oddly profound characters.

Also, those segment titles are amazing.

🌊 Apocalypse Hotel🤖
This one has completely crept up on me as one of the hidden gems of the season. That hotel advertisement-to-plague sequence flip in Episode 1 was just so haunting and clever. The tonal contrast between robot optimism and the decaying, abandoned world is peak existential sci-fi.

Yachiyo is becoming such a tragic yet lovable character. This show has soul, even if it’s wrapped in post-apocalyptic gloom.

One of the first times I truly saw
Not just as the cheeky, wild child with a monkey tail but as someone destined to become the Goku we all know.

This scene made me pause.
His expression is fierce, not playful.
His stance? Steady. Strong. Determined.

There's a weight to him here, something beyond his years.
A weight he didn't have before.

At this moment, I wasn’t just looking at young Goku.
I was looking at the future Goku.
