Meri Kirihimete: Merry Christmas

Rākau Kirihimete: Christmas tree, with rākau meaning tree and Kirihimete meaning Christmas.
Here are some of my notes around the impact of #AI on human #cognitive load, where it shines, and where it lacks substantial impact:
Human beings are members of a whole,
All created from the same essence.
When fate brings suffering to one
Other members cannot remain at ease.
If you are indifferent to the suffering of others,
You cannot be worthy of the name “human.”
— Sa’di
Good quarterly financial reports do not necessarily mean good products or a healthy business. Specifically when talking about the “too big to fail companies”.
Twitter crowd are so pro-AI specifically in software development while #fedi are so anti. It’s so confusing looking from outside and I don’t think they both can be right at the same time.
“Tomorrow is not guaranteed” is one of the quotes that reaffirms itself more frequently than one might expect.
I can see myself getting addicted to Claude Skills. It has such a low barrier to entry, which can be extended and iterated infinitely.
Wondering how many horses-game is the conversational AI race is? In mobile world it turned out to be two (iOS/Android) and no room for the third (Win Phone).
It’s a shame if it turns out the same here, since it will be OpenAI and Google. And it means the better product (Anthropic) will be out.

The paranoid me is worried if we face a situation where companies tweak the model behaviour to exhibit undesirable behaviour to increase their DAU or other business metrics. Same thing we observe in classic social media world where hatred attracts more audience.

@nxskok it makes sense to me. But as someone who English is his second language and te reo is not his mother tongue, I may be wrong.

Someone who did not write one line of #code in the last 30 years and implicitly looking at software engineers as “too tactical”, cost center, and inferior should not set the future of coding in #AI era.
That’s why #software engineers should control the conversation and find best use cases rather than avoiding it. Otherwise a consultant with no experience will do that for them.
