The reason the LDS Church is using the term “addiction” when referring to normative and healthy sexual behaviors is because the word “sin” doesn’t get any traction anymore. So they bend modern moral models to their own model to get the same result they’ve always had: control of the emotional life and reproductive rights of its membership.
