I'm an artist. I'm a geek. I'm an ArtGeek. More specifically, I'm an IT professional who rides bikes, takes pictures, plays cello, and writes stuff. I'm a freakin' renaissance man.
Beautiful piece, gorgeous cello part, but a bit anxiety inducing. 😳
It’s true, I’m not dead yet. I was spending all my free time practicing the Borodin string quartet 2, mvt III for a concert last night and riding my bike to get back in shape for our Ireland trip. Still getting in shape, but I can breathe a big sigh now that the concert is done.

@ml @ArtGeek I was misreading your comment then—I thought your were saying that cycling advocates had gone to Mastodon. I've been lurking around some Bikenite conversations, and it seems like a good group.
I still maintain cyclists are the masters of talking smack—I used to hang out with a retired Jewish dentist, riding sweep and kvetching about kids these days. Recovering from a MVA and hope to be back later this summer.
@foolishowl @Nonilex Somehow I doubt any of them could win a war in a video game.
@elaterite @ArtGeek Round gold is my go-to. I tried some variety for a while with half frames but came back to roundish tortiseshell with gold temples. My wife likes them, which is a critical consideration. I even got complimented several times, which is odd for a fashion averse geek.
@elaterite @ArtGeek I do, however, refuse to wear a pocket protector.
@elaterite @ArtGeek It's been two or three years since I had to buy glasses, and I noticed then that prices were going up. Haven't looked recently, and I'm not look forward to it. If wanted to look like a 1960s engineer like my dad, it would be cheaper, but not much. Retro styles are in . . .
@elaterite Last time I bought glasses, you could still get frames for around $20. The designer frames were in the $100-$200 range.
I come from the home of Bausch & Lomb, which owned the suglasses industry with Ray Bans for ages. They sold the brand to Luxotica (I think), which may have been swallowed up by another conglomerate. I don't know what is left of B&L, and their HQ tower is office space for other companies. That is true of Kodak and Xerox as well.
@ml @cadusilva FWIW, Mastodon seems to be the home for cranky iconoclasts. Cycling advocates track with that. 😏
@GottaLaff Funny thing—they have more loyalty to the law than to Trump. He's gotta be pissed.
@charlotteclymer Ugh! Ugh! Ugh!
My people (Evangelicals, not southerners) are so aggravating.
@elaterite I'm a bit too young, but I certainly heard it quoted a lot, and I know a lot of the cast members from other shows and movies.
