Too many books, movies, baseball games, and pastries. And not enough time.

Pretty good; Rockies are a bit of a challenge, feel that row could be better.

Boomer and Banana Man in the top row make me happy.

Paul Householder, Ron Gant, Charlie Comiskey, and Bug Holliday were all Reds.

Shoutouts: Pete Vuckovich, Gorman Thomas, Joe Girardi, Dante Bichette, Vince Coleman, Lou Brock, and Eric Davis.

We both had Dock and Rick Reuschel.

Love the Nap and Sid Monge picks. Tug!

Don’t remember Lofton at the Cubs.

40 years ago this week, "Sussudio" by #PhilCollins reached the top spot, replacing "Heaven" by #BryanAdams after two weeks. Collins said that Sussudio was a nonsense word he made up to match the rhythm he'd composed on a drum machine, and he planned to replace it later. Then he never found anything better. Sounds similar to the story of the "Sesame Street" theme lyrics. youtube.com/watch?v=r0qBaBb1Y- #1980s #MusicHistory #MusicVideo

The number of recharging stations has really taken off in the last couple years. I’m in north Florida and have noticed a lot more.

I’m very happy with my old Ford Fusion at 233K miles, but I would love if Ford made a fully electric hybrid and would switch. Unfortunately Ford seems to have given up on actual cars. Profit is in SUVs and trucks.

Almost no Reds nonsense. Steve Henderson was drafted by, but never played for, the Reds. He was part of the package that landed Tom Seaver.

Old friends Rico Carty and Vicente Padilla.

Reuschel brothers!

Chad Ogea went 6-12 in 1999, his only year in Philly. No idea how he won 6. Oof.

Shoutout: Manny Trillo, Carlos Ruiz, Shawon Dunston, & King Kong Kingman.

So busy sorting baseball cards, I almost forgot to do the Grid.

I’ll admit to double-checking Pat Clements. Thought Steve Finley was too obvious and Clements was my next thought. Weird.

Also double-checked Thorpe played CF, but was pretty sure.

Glad I remembered Orsulak; I couldn’t get Bobby Bonilla out of my head.

Shoutouts: Greg Maddux & Smoky Burgess.

Not bad. For as much as I like getting Negro League players into the grid, I don’t use Hall of Famers Ray Brown and Bill Foster very often.

I think it’s the plain name problem. Mule and Turkey and Cool Papa jump to mind quicker. And Slim Jones, of course. Should use Nip Winters more, he won 20 games too.

Luis Tiant Sr. won 9 for the 1947 New York Cubans.

Putting some recent acquisitions in binders.

Al Smith
Chicago White Sox OF
1961 Topps

Smith was a former Negro Leaguer for the Cleveland Buckeyes. He led the AL with 123 runs in 1955 for the Cleveland Indians, making the All Star game that year and again in 1960.

@seaks Jose Peña! I just discovered him this week among that haul of 1970 Topps I got recently. He was a 3-time 20 game winner in Mexico.

And Dr. Strangeglove. Nice!

Born Outside the U.S.—immigrants are important. Blue Jays—MLB isn’t just U.S., it’s part of the larger world. Dodgers/Angels—Los Angeles is important.

Seems the right kind of patriotic to me. (I might be a little grumpy today.)

3 Father-Son Combos. Happy Father’s Day!

The Blue Jays column were all born in Canada. Happy Canada Day!

Shoutout: Jackie Robinson. I’m still allowed to mention him, right?

Should be a nice day to watch some baseball and eat some hotdogs (but not enough to kill you). Enjoy!
