What can wire strippers do, besides strip wire? Let's ask Bill!

Building something with wood is every IT person's dream exit strategy. Doing something with digging in the dirt rarely comes up in those dreams.

I'm not loving it, but I'm loving someone who does, so...

Had a fun board game evening with friends this weekend. My first time with a board game RPG (I think they are distinct from table-top).
Spent most of the time learning the complex rules or discussing situations that somehow were not in the rules. Actually, that's something I like, so good for me, but other than that I'm not entirely sure what's the big selling point here. Not much creative freedom. Painting the miniatures might be fun, but it's not part of the game.
I'd still play it again.

Had to look him up. Not sure that I have seen his illustrations before, but Wikipedia cites him as one of the inspirations for the art style in the animated Hobbit movie and Hellboy, which both I know and like.
Found these and many more old willow trees on a walk today. Instant Lord of the Rings vibes.

I'm not going back through all of them to give them a 'like', so let me say here: I have no idea about the backstory, but seeing that oven grow really made me smile today. Thank you for sharing.
Last week @bytespeicher@pixelfed.social the 3D printer - turned - CNC mill took a go at the slightly too tall pin headers of an e-paper breakout board. Worked surprisingly well to shave off 1.5mm of unnecessary height.

Still wouldn't recommend to blindly mill into some plastic structures of assembled PCBs.
We did a test cut first.

Hm. Maybe I should have cleaned that after it's last use?
Well, cleaning-through-usage it is then.

Adhesives in electronics add durability and waterproofing, but excess glue can hinder repairs and recycling.

Learn why electronics rely on glue—and why they shouldn’t:

Galaxy S20 Ultra with its back cover and most of its internals removed. The battery is being held directly above its cut-out in the frame of the phone by a heavy duty suction cup. The battery is currently being removed, evidenced by the thick glue on the battery and phone itself, strands of which are attached between them.

Guys at @bytespeicher@pixelfed.social have converted a 3D printer into a small CNC router. First results look way better than expected. Well done!

I don't know why the quality of the school has traditionally to be judged by the baking skills of the parents.
But tomorrow is Open Day and we have to deliver.

(Well at least I don't have to perform in the school play.)

Never heard of the game before, but judged by its wikipedia page, this sounds like fun. I immediately want to build one too for our hackspace. Looking forward to more updates on your project.
