I ended up in a YouTube rabbit hole about mechanical keyboards recently. After watching a few dozen of them, I don't think it's something for me. I'm too fond of my Logitech MX Keys keyboard anyway. It's ultralow profile is unbeatable for me, plus its three-device connectivity.

Ambient tip of the day:

Corella
by DFFDL

Mesmerizing drones with minimal fluctuations that occupy your brain. This lowers my blood pressure. Some wouldn’t call this music, but I don’t care.

@egarri Hello there! 👋

I happen to be a fan of generative music too. I have a release of new generative music planned for the near future. Looking forward to reading your posts. Cheers!

Six years ago today I released my second full album: All Will Perish. Five long pieces, featuring dark ambient soundscapes, with all sounds sourced from bass guitars, using all kinds of effects to create haunting and melancholic atmospheres.

If you like the music: there are still some copies left of the limited run of 100, all hand-numbered by me. 😊
It has the Consolation EP as bonus tracks.

I had my hopes set a tad too high for Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning. Saw it yesterday, and it was a lot of fun, but not as good as the previous film. The scene with the airplane stunts was the absolute highlight for me. What Tom Cruise did there was totally bonkers. An amazing feat.

Will AI lead to chaos, or to dystopia? Or is there still a road that avoids these?

Interesting presentation.

This short retrospective of the Mission Impossible films, with interviews with the cast of the final installment, is a lovely watch.

Still haven't seen Final Reckoning myself, but that will happen soon. I'm very excited about this movie.

Wonderful hour-long Drumeo video with Matt Cameron; drummer of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. Love his playing, sound and creativity.

Still happy with how this unattended, generative piano session turned out.

I streamed this live on Twitch in February last year, but never released it. I wonder if people would be interested in this if I put it on Bandcamp.

@auritech After checking out your suggestions I stumbled on another editor called Shotcut. It's also open source and multiplatform just like Kdenlive. One YouTuber thought that export quality of Shotcut is better too.

So I gave Shotcut a try this afternoon. Within 90 minutes I had watched a few tutorials and made a simple video for a new song. So I'm a happy camper right now. 🙂

There is a party with loud music two blocks away where I can literally sing along if I wanted. Then I had an epiphany and connected my Sony WH-1000XM4 noise-cancelling headphones via Bluetooth to my Apple TV. Why haven't I thought of this before? 😃

In 1953, Iran had a democratically elected prime minister, Mohammad Mossadegh, who committed what, in the eyes of the British Empire and the United States, was an unforgivable sin: he nationalized Iran’s oil industry.

(1/11)

The image shows a tweet from a verified account named "Fifty Shades of Wh..." with the handle "[@]davenewworld_2." The tweet is set against a dark background with white text. The tweet reads: "If you are an American who wants war with Iran and WW3 to break out, let me remind you that the US + UK orchestrated a coup in Iran in the 1950s, overthrowing a democratically elected prime minister for daring to nationalize their oil when we could've just had a century of peace."

When I started using Bitwig Studio in early 2024, I just started fiddling around with it and looked up stuff when I got stuck with something.

Today I spent time to really dig in. Made a list of useful shortcut keys, and changed mappings to shortcuts that I'm used to in Cubase. Feeling productive! 😊

I create videos for my music every now and then. Very simple ones, with only the cover art and some effects and transitions.

I used DaVinci Resolve but find it a tad too complicated and convoluted for my needs. Then I tried CapCut, but I don't like the workflow.

Which simple video editor would you suggest to check out? I don't mind if it's not free, but preferably not too expensive.

Any tips are appreciated. 😊
