Currently double screening #WALvAUS and #Atleti Real Madrid. Could be a good or dreadful night
@alexisbushnell It was a pretty good first night
@OwainConnors that was what I was just saying. Doesn't bode well for the Olympics
@cardiffbites oh yes, and quite a bit smaller too! Wouldn't want to come face to face with a Llandudno goat while you're having an evening drink!
Evening goat run (Cercedilla, Madrid)
Note to self: don't use Mastodon like the nice boy or girl next door who you run to when things go wrong with the bad boy but then you leave them in the lurch when the bad boy/girl comes crawling back. Stick with the nice one this time!
@MsAlliance I've been seeing way too many people who have terrible opinions on my TL recently , and I've always avoided them like the plague. Just depressing!
Apparently you're meant to do an #Introduction, so...
I'm a writer from the UK. I do threads mocking the political fuck-ups of the week. I've also written bestselling books taking a longer view of UK politics since 2010. I try to make it funny, even though it really isn't.
So I'll mostly be writing about that on here. And dogs.
I spent 30 years as a director-level software dude, and still do software stuff half the time, cos books don't pay. Also a painter, drummer, boxer and cancer survivor.
@TheBossRoss ๐ been a bit in and out of It in the last few months but it's nice to see some of my favourite people here!
@TheBossRoss It took me about 1 hour this am to reach the limit, just from scrolling with my cup of tea. Will be trying to make Mastodon work better for me now
@SarahCalvert1 will listen to that, It was one of the choices in my book club but turns out that almost everyone else had already read It. Feel like I'm behind the curve on this!
@SamanthaMalin used to love going to Queens, always seemed a lot more intimate than Wimbledon
@SamanthaMalin so sorry that you got suspended, as you probably know, there's uproar about It! Glad you're on here too though
Of course I didn't take just one photo on Sunday night :) After shooting the first photo, I ran to the top of the path so I could overlook Rhossili Bay. This is the Aurora Borealis over Rhossili Bay with the moon, taken just before midnight.

I saw a post a couple of weeks ago about using March to promote and talk about Welsh books, but of course I can't find it now. Anyway, I thought it might be fun to mark St David's day by talking about some of the Welsh (including books set in Wales, books about Wales, books in Welsh etc) books that I've read over the past couple of years. I'm also happy for people to share their favourite Welsh reads.
It's dark in Wales!

Movie Women: A History
During the silent movie era, women virtually controlled the industry. For example, women screenwriters outnumbered men ten to one. A leading light was Lois Weber, pictured. Lois was the first woman to write, direct, produce and star in a movie.
Libraries are so cool. Want a book? Free at the library. Don't like reading? Get an audiobook for free at the library. Book you want isn't at the library? Ask for it and it's in the library now. Hate books of any sort? Internet's free at the library, go crazy.
