@bourgwick apparently so, I asked the same question on the Steve Hoffman Forum and it has descended into a bit of a row about whether the cover is any good or not. Oops!

Is the cover of the upcoming Beach Boys We Gotta Groove boxset AI-generated? It kinda looks like it might be.

@revivalrecords I bought it as a callow teen, I should listen to it again now I’m old and sad.

I also went through a stack of 1992-1996 NMEs and Melody Makers and you could feel the drudgery of Grunge and CarterUSM et al give way to Britpop. A selection of covers. Look! blur have a new album coming out!

And here is a selection of gig programmes.
The Beach Boys is from Sept 1989. U2 Love Town is from the famous New Year’s Eve gig in 1989 (I was there!). Dire Straits was the most boring gig I ever went to. The Wall in Berlin I was NOT at, I bought the programme mail order. Zooropa is not official and the suitcase one is Peter Gabriel, Secret World tour 1993.

The Hello Recording Club was a monthly CD club founded by John Flansburgh from The Might Be Giants back in 1993. Pre internet, really. I subscribed for 2-3 years. It was always fun to get a package from them. Here’s three famous ones. My Brown Guitar appearing here six years before it popped up on XTC’s Apple Venus Vol 2.

These are BBC Radioplay CDs from the late 80s. In house compilations made up so BBC DJs would have easier access to tracks for playing on the radio.

This nice gold CD packaging of the Prince symbol album. The 20th anniversary of Dark Side of the Moon from 1993 when 20 years seemed like a long time. No extras, just packaging and I’ve just found out the CD is missing. Great!

Ok. Here’s a thread of stuff found clearing out my old childhood room where I lived for over 20 years. Let’s start with CDs. This is the last box of CDs. See anything you like?
