The EU has a comprehensive #energy #security architecture. Yet, following the energy crisis caused by #Russia’s invasion of #Ukraine, gaps were identified in the EU framework.
To ensure it's still fit for purpose, the EU is carrying out a "fitness check" to be published in Q2 and issued a "Call for evidence" last autumn. EASAC has responded.
"As climate change worsens, there is no time for false solutions" EASAC has long pointed out the perverse nature of #bioenergy subsidies. Now, a study to which our Michael Norton provided advice has quantified the lost opportunities from wasting so much public money.
