Dr. Jim Ellsworth

I'm a retired, General Officer level U.S. Army Intelligence leader who's been in INFOSEC since the 1980s, when it was mostly mainframes & Novell. Certifications came after, when I was off leading in the PSYOP / counternarrative side of IO, so I don't have any & cannot claim to be any sort of technical expert--but I can still (in sha' Allah) talk intelligently with folks who ARE technical experts & help connect such discourse to strategic outcomes.

I'm also coming onboard as Associate Director of an academic Global & National Security Policy Institute, a Twitter refugee sold on the fediverse as the most resilient architecture to avoid getting co-opted by billionaires or governments, an observant Muslim & aspiring alim, and a senior EDUCATIONAL Technology scholar.

As I said in my old Twitter bio, "Yep--weird." :-D

Apparently there exists a system for deep dredging of public Internet data about specific people, called #Hermes, and it was bought by the Polish national prosecutor's office in 2021.

Seems like it was sold by the #NSOGroup, but they were only a reseller for another, unnamed Israeli company.

There's been quite the brouhaha about it in Polish media, but it's kinda difficult to find any mentions of it anywhere outside Poland.

Weird.

Does anyone have any info on this?

I was curious just how much time in prison people pardoned by Trump would otherwise have had to have served. So I added it up: more than 700 years, including 600 among Jan. 6 rioters.

These should be demolished by cruise missile as soon as they are complete. Maybe give them a "knock on the roof" 24 hours in advance so they can evacuate, just like #IsraelAtWarCrimes affords Palestinian families whose homes they're about to demolish. In the last 2 ½ years, eight members of Congress have died in office. All eight of them have been Democrats.

Democratic leaders need to start holding themselves accountable – by retiring when their time has come and making space for a new generation that can put fresh energy behind the party’s brand. When more than half of House Democrats over 75 say they're running for reelection, it’s clear that the message isn’t getting through.

The Senate Intelligence Committee has deleted from its website its 2020 report on Russian interference in the 2016 election and Russian cooperation with the Trump campaign. It was by far the most comprehensive document detailing the Russian intelligence operations of 2016. The report was accessible as recently as May 10.

Hanlon's Razor: Don't attribute to malice that which can be explained by stupidity.

Hanlon's corollary: Incompetence is sometimes indistinguishable from malice.

Hanlon's limit: Sufficiently advanced malice is indistinguishable from the most mind-boggling incompetence you can imagine.

As an illustration of just how deeply philo-Zionism has burrowed into the American zeitgeist, I just attended my twins' elementary school graduation--not in one of the large urban concentrations of American Judaism, but in heavily-CATHOLIC New Mexico--and they had this charming group of fifth-graders sing TWO songs...one of which was Shalom Chaverim, a song Wikipedia describes as "traditional...going back to the Habonim Labor Zionist Youth movement. The song expresses wishes for peace and well-being for a farewell, but has often been used advocating...at memorial events remembering Jewish victims of the Holocaust and anti-semitic violence."

On the surface, it seems like a nice selection, and it has a great verse about farewell to friends that I'm sure really resonated with the kids. But on another level, to be living in the U.S. and have ONE OF TWO songs selected for the musical program for a graduation event at a secular public school be a Zionist hymn, IN THE MIDST OF THE ZIONIST #GENOCIDE IN #PALESTINE, protest of which is RIGHT NOW being mischaracterized as antisemitism, is pretty damn disturbing....
