So, pretending such a feature exists and is mature - just because it superficially appears to work - means pushing a harmful lie, IMO.
Same for transparent machine translation.
(No, "ai" can't summarize dependably. Because that requires understanding.
It will happily introduce biases and distortions, though.)
An "option to turn off ai features" isn't even the bare minimum.
The bare minimum of responsibility would be not to push epistemic vandalism such as "ai summaries" on users by default.
"This vote is a huge win for every woman in Europe. The EU has finally shown that sexual and reproductive health care is a basic human right," Renew’s Abir Al-Sahlani said after the vote.

@Em0nM4stodon if only corps has that level of clarity about their software and it's userbase!
@MartinaNeumayer @alterelefant Indeed. I was on iOS back then. Same problem in 2 languages too.
@alterelefant @Em0nM4stodon Same here. Exactly what I was thinking about, that around six years ago something strange must be happened with that topic. It's also interesting that we all feel the same way, despite using different devices, different systems, and probably different keyboards as well. This means that this change occurred globally. I wonder which one it was, and what exactly did they changed? I'm itching to dig into the archives and check. Or it means that the ai was started then.
@Em0nM4stodon I hear you. I have exactly the same experience. About six years ago autocorrect on Android was amazing, it worked really well. After the following update by Google it became absolutely rubbish and I have never managed to get it exactly back to where it was. At the moment it is pretty close but my fear is that everything will be gone again after the next update.
DEI losing ground as White men make gains in the boardroom~
"Following the national uprising over the murder of George Floyd, corporations sought out more women and people of color to diversify their boards of directors.
For a time, the once ironclad dominance of men – especially White men – in the corporate boardroom appeared to be slipping. Over the past five years, racial and ethnic representation rose 20% and female representation 18% in companies included in the Russell 3000 index, according to data and analytics firm ISS-Corporate."
And yet... "White men urged to file discrimination claims in anti-DEI escalation"
I hope that anyone filing such a claim realizes what a whiney little punk they are if they do.

Oh cool. They gonna make the App Store worse.

Less choice. More propaganda. Like everywhere else.
@xankarn
Yeah, there is a very simple explanation for the rightward shift of young men:
They're being heavily propagandized by Nazis and way too many platforms are just allowing it to happen.
Case closed.
The “Have Women Ruined the Workplace” guy now says young, white men in America have gone Nazi because…DEI.
They’re never responsible for their own warped perspectives and actions. It’s always someone else’s fault.
At what point do Alt-Right apologists who excuse social scapegoating become Alt-Right themselves?
I’m not going to link here, but the headline and graphic are instructive.
@Em0nM4stodon @alterelefant Nail cutter is the perfect example of human made tech that never get improved anymore because it has reached its perfect functionality.
@davidrevoy Oh this is very good
@davidrevoy @jargoggles This is so accurate 😂
