@jenskutilek @cjtype @klim euh there is nothing there….

It only feels like 2 weeks ago since we last launched a new font …

… it was, but where FC Crimp excels in glyphs and functionality, FC Filter is quite the opposite.

FC Filter is a variable display typeface that has more masters than it has glyphs; 387 masters to be precise. Our first release from the mind of @typemytype is released through @futurefonts.

Filter pushes the limits of variable fonts and how they are made. It is the culmination of Frederik’s obsession with mono linear fonts.

The next version of MD Thermochrome was always going to involve some kind of oblique axis. But what about one that goes in both directions?

Aiming for a release later this month...

Photograph of a couple of pages from a proof document, showing side-by-side comparisons of various glyphs in different styles of the same typeface (in this case, MD Thermochrome). As well as the regular, the other styles are an extremely slanted italic (almost 36°!), and a reverse italic which slopes backwards by the same angle.

Specimen for Brush, (Typeface by Robert E. Smith), Lanston Monotype Machine Company, Philadelphia, 1942.

More commonly known as Brush Script in its digital version, (and often maligned due to misuse and overuse), Brush is one of the more successful examples of mid-20th-century script lettering translated to metal type.
