If I hear one more person talk about “putting our brightest people toward solving climate change”, I will scream.
Climate change is not some deep mystery waiting for a scientific breakthrough: we know exactly what causes it and how we address that. We have SOLVED climate change.
The problem is not “finding the solution”, the problem is convincing literally anyone in power that the solution is better than building billionaire bunkers in new zealand.
A reminder that Jimmy Carter felt he needed to sell his peanut farm when he became president, in order to avoid even the appearance of any conflicts of interest.

That Rolling Stone article on people worshiping #AI is wild. It reveals not only the deep spiritual longing that people still have, but also the problem with our made-up gods. There's a bit in the story where they note OpenAI rolls back a GPT model because it's too flattering. So, this thing is "god" but can be tweaked by software engineers? What happens to someone's mental health when they learn about that?

Look, this is why marital fidelity matters when it comes to the president. When it happened with Clinton there was much "what he does in the bedroom is between him and his wife and no one else." But it does matter because it says whether or not this is a person who takes their vows seriously.
Many of those who hammered Clinton back in the day are now those who look the other way when it comes to Trump's infidelity. And look what we get. A guy who can't take a presidential vow seriously.

Since today is #StarWars Day, let me share a personal headcanon: the reason Luke has a green lightsaber in RotJ is because the only kyber crystal he could find was in the first Death Star wreckage (since the empire used the remaining kyber crystals to power the Death Star laser—which is the same color green).
I’m sure there’s a comic or something that negates this. But this has been how I thought about it for awhile now.

@spaceraser Yeah, the file system (in Ubuntu at least) is juuuust different enough to be frustrating if you have muscle memory for MacOS
I'm kicking around the idea of writing an article to implore people (particularly #Episcopal clergy) to switch over to #Linux. I'd like to try and get this picked up in a publication like The Living Church (and not just my blog). Anyone out there feel cool with sharing some questions or concerns about making the switch? Or advice for me to include in such a piece?
