Well it took some coercion, but I did it; I was able to get #LegoIsland to boot up on my #SteamDeck thanks to the hard work of all those involved over at the IsleDecomp project!
I can't wait to revisit my childhood all over again!
Challenged to live-toot games that I, apparently, should have played decades ago? I dabble in #retrogaming, #retrocomputing, #pinball, #3DPrinting, and other stuff as well.
I want to be very clear on where I stand: if you're any kind of decent person, I'm happy to be here with you. Your biology and choices don't bother me. I'm on the side that welcomes foreigners, LGBTQ+ people, neurodiverse folks, and everyone else who wants to read my thoughts about computers and games and fun.

Today we're releasing a surprise 3rd Dr. Franken prototype for #GameBoy, taking Franky into space! Explore an unseen early prototype with puzzles and areas within a rocket ship. More coming soon too we hope:
@exquisitecorp I didn't manage to successfully put the baby _down_, but apparently if a toaster lands on a baby, the baby will instantly stick to the bottom as if held in place by a magnet. the toaster can then fly away to the crib, squirming baby in tow.
I really, _really_ need an oral history of how the designers got from "toasters in space" to this.
Fan-made Mario Kart 64 PC port released, with track editor and ultrawide support
today i took the opportunity of a metal working workshop taking place in our house to make some progress on the mac plus.
below some pictures of the metal frame that holds all of the computers parts together placwd on a work bench. it's made from galvanized steel i think and it has a lot of rust due to the leaked battery.
@outofprintarchive Mario Kart DS was the first Nintendo game I played online. Internet races were only 4-player, but it all worked so well.
Also, I think this iteration of Mario Kart has my favorite track set.
its weird being able to say that i came from a time when if you were wealthy you were able to put ram into slots on your sound card.
After many years in storage bins, I finally carved out a place in the basement for my NES. I've had this for about 35 years. At one point during the last 90s/early 2000s, I had over 100 games because I kept getting them for like $1 at flea markets and the like. It's slowly shrank over the years. This is about the point where there's nothing left I'm willing to part with. For everything else, there's an Everdrive.

after a much longer time than expected got some replacement Atari 2600 Videlectrix games. One is the updated glitch-free version of Secret Collect.
If you want #photography #3Dprinting and #gaming to combine, then you'll love photographer Bastiaan Ekeler and the work he put in to a vintage Game Boy camera with a custom printed adapter.
He printed an adapter to let him use Canon EF-Mount DSLR lenses and the results are incredible. I suspect he loves #birds with most photos being on that subject.
Is it making me want a Game Boy camera? Yes. Yes it is.
Seriously if you find a Wii U at $99 buy it. Used games are still cheap, the console has a nice catalogue and the OS has a cozy feeling (even if slow OS). There's many games that is hard to replicate the same feeling, Zombi U, Rayman Legends, Resident Evil Revelations and more.
It's Friday. It's 11 o'clock. You know what that means!
Another blog about an obscure British computer from the 1980's.

@ifixcoinops I once helped a friend de-upholster a chair because their new kitten had decided to hide inside it.
On Saturday's (21st) noon eastern stream, we'll work on this Varta-bombed ECS NEATsx 386sx motherboard that I picked up at MIT Swapfest last weekend. I'll have some updates about the SIMM->SIPP conversion and the mystery 286 board. https://youtube.com/live/KgbgS44QJiU?feature=share
