Let me get this straight: American service members are dying to free people halfway around the world while we’re simultaneously filling concentration camps with immigrants who came here to be free.
Do I have that right?

Do you use old or new family photos to tell your family history? Are some of them professional or studio photos? Have you ever been challenged to produce permission or copyright information when you used those photos? #genealogy #photography #familyhistory https://nutfieldgenealogy.blogspot.com/2013/12/a-funny-thing-happened-on-our-way-to.html
Wow! This is the kind of treasure most genealogists wish to find! https://www.wcvb.com/article/boston-man-finds-ancestors-freedom-papers/70502442?

Quote of the day…
The story that Elon Musk committed voter fraud has gotten next to no coverage -- one of those things you can't make come up on a Google search.
But I think it's time for Dems to go on offensive abt right wing coddling of this immigrant interfering in our elections.

NewScientist: "Antibodies harvested from the blood of paediatricians are up to 25 times better at protecting against the common respiratory infection RSV than existing antibody therapies, and are now being developed as preventative treatments"
This is both so logical and yet absurdly like a science fiction story ...
Seen on Facebook “if a bad President can come in and take away our rights and we’re dependent on a Good President replacing them in four years to give us back our rights, then we do not have any rights”
It's Weathervane Wednesday! This merman was spotted in the Netherlands. Do you know who he may represent? https://nutfieldgenealogy.blogspot.com/2026/02/a-merman-for-weathervane-wednesday.html
I'm starting a new series at my Nutfield Genealogy blog, where I will feature a post on each of my many patriot ancestors who fought or contributed to the American Revolution. Today's post is #1 and I'm featuring Colonel Joshua Burnham of Milford, New Hampshire. https://nutfieldgenealogy.blogspot.com/2026/02/my-revolutionary-war-patriots-colonel.html #genealogy
Here is a blog post about a newclipping that reported a distant cousin, serving on board Old Ironsides (USS Constitution) killed in action during the War of 1812. My family tree has many connections to this one ship, including my 3x great grandfather whose Civil War regiment "rescued" Old Ironsides from Annapolis during the Civil War. https://nutfieldgenealogy.blogspot.com/2012/10/seaman-stephen-webb-war-of-1812.html
It's Groundhog Day!
Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit! Happy February 1st!
You might remember the story from US History - men hauling cannons hundreds of miles through the snow back to General George Washington. But how did they do it? https://bit.ly/3O7W9T9

There were endless news reports during the last snow storm, and 24 hour coverage on TV Sunday. My 90 year old mother said "You would think they never saw snow before!" Is this kind of snow hysteria new? I don't think so... Read this newsclipping from an 1831 New Hampshire newspaper https://nutfieldgenealogy.blogspot.com/2013/02/snowstorm-media-hype-in-1831.html
It's Weathervane Wednesday! This rooster weathervane can be found close to home at the Beech Hill Farm in Hopkinton, New Hampshire. https://nutfieldgenealogy.blogspot.com/2026/01/a-rooster-at-farm-for-weathervane.html
Today is the birthday of my Revolutionary War Patriot, Colonel Joshua Burnham of Milford, New Hampshire. He was born 26 January 1754 in Gloucester, Massachusetts, 272 years ago. https://nutfieldgenealogy.blogspot.com/2013/10/tombstone-tuesday-col-joshua-burnham.html
History moment for today.... "Terrible things are happening outside. At any time of night and day, poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes." "Families are torn apart; men, women, and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared." Anne Frank, 1943
Tonight is "Burns Night" honoring the birth of Scottish poet Robert Burns. Did you know that Nutfield, New Hampshire had their own Scottish poet known as the "Rustic Bard"? Robert Dinsmoor lived in Windham, New Hampshire 1757 - 1836. https://nutfieldgenealogy.blogspot.com/2014/01/a-burns-night-poem-by-rustic-bard-of.html

Boston's Great Molasses Flood was a disaster that killed dozens and left terrifying memories.
It’s #caturday Saturday! Shadow is constantly on my lap now that I’m home from babysitting my granddaughter all week. And she slept on my head the last two nights.
