Always remember what our foreign minister (yes, I'm a Dane) keeps repeating:"According to the 1951 treaty between Kingdom of Denmark and the USA, USA can always ask for more US bases in Greenland, if they feel there is a need". They have not done so. All talk about the need to take over Greenland for national security reasons is utter BS and people need to call this BS to their face.

Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen also addressed #Trump's comments: "Unfortunately, I think the American president should be taken seriously when he says he wants #Greenland," she told public broadcaster DR. "I have made it very clear where the Kingdom of #Denmark stands, & Greenland has repeatedly said that it does not want to be part of the #UnitedStates."

Haiti, lacking oil, is the poorest nation in the hemisphere

That’s why the State Department issued a “Do Not Travel” order.


Simultaneously, however, the Trump administration insists it’s safe enough to force around 350,000 Haitians legally living and working in the United States to return home by next month.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services issued formal notice that Haitians will be stripped of their temporary protected status (TPS) on Feb. 3.

“Certain conditions in Haiti remain concerning,” the agency said.

“Armed groups operate with impunity, enabled by a weak or effectively absent central government.”

That’s an understatement.

More than 1.4 million people in Haiti, or 12 percent of the population, are displaced.

A new U.S.-proposed
“Gang Suppression Force”
is floundering due to few countries committing the needed funds or manpower.

Yet the administration is ordering Haitians to self-deport.

They have been offered a free one-way plane ticket and a $1,000 check if they agree to leave before the February deadline.

Das liest und hört man so oder so ähnlich tatsächlich immer öfters. Es gibt Fälle mit ausgeprägter Zwangslage, bei denen man einem physikalischen Aufenthalt bzw. einer Reise nur schwer entkommt, aber für fuckin' URLAUB in einem Regime (gilt auch für Russland, Nordkorea, den Iran, die Türkei und China) vorauseilend buckeln habe ich nicht das geringste Verständnis!
