Welcome back to FACET FRIDAY. This week we are premiering the work of a new, but talented "cutter", Nate Roberson. He worked on these 24 stones over the last couple of months and is finally ready to show them off. Yes, some have inclusions - I sent a few choice stones (which obviously stand out), and some stuff to practice on. HE CUT IT ALL!!! WOW!

Mineral Monday
I guess I can call this "rare" because if you google 'Amethyst and Malachite' combos, I am the only place that comes up - in the WORLD!

Got up early to catch-up on some work. At 5:30am I walked straight out into rain, thunder, and lightening. I guess I am not working outside. So here is a really cool piece of Malachite and Azurite with Hematite - shown wet 'cuz it's raining...
Let's have some fun. Who can name what crystal this is from my mine. Only 4 have been found so far...
(Hint: the growth stridations or "etches" give it away here in Colorado)
Before it was a Amethyst mine, the Humming Bird Mine was an abandoned copper mine from the late 1890s.
Here is a "copper-based" specimen of bladed Chalcopyrite, Hematite, Malachite, and very gemmy green Fluorite. There are a BUNCH of photos of this crazy-cool specimen...

I was making bags of pay dirt early this morning when this little cutie popped into my hand....
Maybe you can find something like this in YOUR bag of pay dirt available here: ->

NOT my video, but WOW!
I am not brave enough to climb "Ancient Art" at Fisher Towers, near Moab, Utah. I drive by it monthly. But if you ever WANTED to, here is what you will be getting into...
This may not seem much to some folks, but for me (and the buyer) it is a BIG deal.
My first GIA stone!
Pay Dirt is available!
Still Rocking it at 62
Cutter Brian Losee is attempting to work with my material for the first time. Yesterday's post was all about the "blues", but look at the "reds" that are coming out of this one...
This AMAZING AMETHYST crystal did not get enough attention when I shared it last week, so here it is again.
There are a couple of things to note, as this sweet beauty does her pirouette. Watch how not only the whole crystal changes color as it rotates, but the very tip has it's own color palette!

FACET FRIDAY has some new entries from world renouned Colorado cutter Randy Hurley.
Come see the whole collection this weekend at Crystal Festival - A Rock, Mineral, Gem, & Crystal Show in Moab, or in our private showroom next week.
WILD WEDNESDAY
Sorry for the delay in posting, things have been crazy. Pikes peak show was awesome and now I am running around crazy trying to get ready for the Crystal Festival - A Rock, Mineral, Gem, & Crystal Show in Moab, despite the last minute hiccup that Grand County tossed into the mix. If all goes well, I hope to see you folks next weekend!
The photo is from the drive home from Colorado Springs Sunday night....
WILD WEDNESDAY 😎
Today is the last day of prepping for Pikes Peak Gem, Mineral, & Jewelry Show. This means adding the final touches and then loading up this evening.
I had a crazy hike planned for this week that I hope can be postponed, but the monsoons are coming and I may have to reschedule that slot canyon hike. Can't go if there is even the SLIGHTEST chance of rain 🌧️
