I realize the postwar years weren't great for everyone, but lower housing and education costs seemed to create more opportunities to build a stable life.

Mastodon's my fave social media site now. But it really is a drag how hard it is for new folks to sign up and get going. The whole thing with not being able just to click and follow seamlessly because there are often extra steps to follow folks on different servers is really, really bad. I know it's not hard to figure out. But this is the internet. Folks don't wanna figure stuff out; they just wanna click and be done.

Because I’m seeing toxic positivity floating around lately….

It’s okay to be sad. It’s okay to be anxious, frustrated, depressed, bummed, or even entirely sickened by the state of the world. It’s okay to feel a visceral need to howl in the face of injustice. It’s okay to grieve and worry and weep.

Those feelings are as much a part of life as happiness.

Ignore anyone who tries to shame you by calling you “negative.” You are a human, not a highlight reel.

Remembered to bring my earbuds with me today while I was grocery shopping and DAMNNNN do they make alllll the difference.

Walking through the grocery store was actually somewhat tolerable (minus the crowds) and without a rage meltdown because all of the noise was dulled out.
