On the fence about outside or in on this one, but it went okay. A bit of a headache afterward, but great to get outside! A bit of an air quality problem here in MN from the Canadian wildfires, but today was much better than earlier this week. #running #runnersofmastodon

The media have been complicit with the government in covering up the threat of the ongoing Covid pandemic and the risks to the public.

If they’re recommending N95s, we should pay attention.

They don’t suggest masks lightly.

@Shanmonster I feel guilty complaining, as my experience isn't as bad as many others, but retraction with fatigue is so very brutal.

The good days help with hope for a better future. Also, looking back on the early days of this, I have been able to do so much more - no longer bedridden like early on.

I hope you continue to have more good, well-rested days!

Got my first IgE inhibitor shot this afternoon.

It has only been an hour and a half, no side major effects, good nor bad. Just one large non-itchy hive, and a lump on the side of my arm where it got the shot. Needles don't usually bug me, but seeing the spring loader on it after was, interesting, to say the least.

Hoping for some relief or reduction in allergies, asthma, and upper respiratory distress I've been having with #longcovid.

More neurological testing next week for those other symptoms. Oof, this feels so never ending, and overly complicated.

Still running a bit hot after this one, but it certainly felt good 😀#running #runnersofmastodon

My HRV is starting to go up again this past week (from the teens to the twenties), and my mood seems to be improving, we shall how long this lasts. Waiting on IgE shoot approval from insurance, and still have a plethora of appointments ahead of me for #longcovid and ruling out complications almost 6 months in. Lumbar puncture is in my future too. Blah, I had a great time running today, and work, family, and friends to keep me going!

If we could admit the following, it would save many lives:

COVID is airborne

COVID is not over

COVID is a social justice issue & everyone deserves access to vaccines, respirators and clean air

COVID can impact everyone, not “only the vulnerable”

Lastly, the “vulnerable” deserve protection too. We are not expendable.

@SpaceLifeForm As soon as i got home, i dunked my head in cold water, that really got me back to grounded, and the AC didn’t hurt 🥶 Definitely wasn’t a heat illness itself at least, it helps that I’m good about hydration, and always take a break half way for that, and cooling off (albeit harder when you’re stuck outside, even with trees).

Apparently, my heat tolerance is way lower than it was last summer (previously 94 F). Running 5 miles in 80 F weather today triggered a mild asthma attack (I always have my inhaler with me), and my heart rate hit 190. The high HR was probably a combination of the temperature outside, pushing too hard, and all the medications I'm on. Classic fuck around and find out 😖

I will be inside on the treadmill until it's low 70s from now on.

Looking forward to starting IgE inhibitor shots in a week or two, hopefully knock down the pre-existing asthma and urticaria, and new severe allergies I now have this spring. Additionally, cut down on the medications I'm on. My doctor is unsure if I have secondary #MCAS from #longcovid, but those three symptoms, combined with the neurological ones, sure aren't helping my quality of life lately.

I want to conclude with, I don't believe I have PEM, CFS, or POTS. My recovery plan is to stay as healthy as I can for as long as I can, and is not typical for people suffering from long covid.

Thursday :
215 seconds of plank.
11 minutes of yoga for runners.
20 minutes of strength training.
10.5 KM of (5°C, 87% humidity, and 26 KM/H wind, gusting to 37 KM/H).

Strength workout was so many pushups. So many. Whew.

My knee was a bit weird near the end of the first KM of running that I nearly stopped, but it sorted itself out so I kept going.

Two trees down from the recent winds which is a bit unusual. Also got rained on for about 3KM, but overall, a good run.

Ran a 10k on Sunday in Wisconsin (solo #trailrunning). Two more times at lunch during the office this week. The weather has been great, getting hotter, it will probably be a brutal one for heat this summer! #running #runnersofmastodon

@juliewebgirl The unpredictability and mood swings hit me hard too. I don't have PEM (or, at least, I refuse to accept it, we'll see how fucked that makes me, lol).

Hang there, it's good to hear from anyone about this, even when it's bad (and it usually is).

This was a disappointment, but I got out and did it, just a few breaks here and there. I was hoping to get more energy after this, but returned to the office and had to push myself heavy to finish the workday. Very fatigued and in a lot of pain, definitely turned out to be a #longcovid crash. Thankfully, I do not feel much pain while #running, and it was a gorgeous day outside! #runnersofmastodon

@da_667 I run into issues with unbound on my home network as well. I get overly confident, hey I got this DNS thing. Then some new, obscure setting comes in like a wreaking ball, bringing me back down to the reality of being just another DNS dummy 😆
