Hey everyone,
I’m [redacted], but most of you know me as Kira Zune. I’m an 18-year-old Muslim Arab from Lebanon, and lately I’ve been pretty shaken by some of the stuff I see on Mastodon. It hurts to scroll past posts full of profanity, explicit images, or hateful comments—as if we’ve forgotten how to treat each other with basic decency. That’s why I’ve found myself speaking up when things go too far.
In my faith, sharing or looking at NSFW content isn’t just “off-color”—it’s something that pushes us away from Allah’s guidance. I want my online life to reflect the same values I live by every day: honesty, compassion, and self-control. We all deserve a space where we can chat, laugh, and learn without feeling grossed out or attacked.
I also owe you all an apology for my own actions on hear-me.social this past week. Between moments of anger and frustration, I reacted in ways that don’t sit right with me now. I’m working on reconnecting with Allah and becoming more patient and kind, both online and off.
So here’s where I’m at: I’ll be blocking or reporting any NSFW images, harsh language, or insults aimed at me. I’m asking you to help me keep this a welcoming, respectful corner of the internet. Let’s look out for each other, share good conversations, and remember that kindness costs us nothing.
Thanks for hearing me out—and for respecting these boundaries. May Allah guide us all toward what’s best.
