@aardrian @lukethelibrarian @darrell73 I feel like the whole Talk almost was a passing reference. There was so much to cover. I did mention this article (added it in last night)

@darrell73 - I agree with Adrian‘s experience and your suspicions of how this might have happened. We had one structured negotiation case where the lawyer for the company kept talking about his blind grandfather. After a successful negotiation, I would always say we need the lawyers on the other side to have blind grandparents.

@darrell73 Darrell- breathing a sigh of relief that your job may be protected, is of course something you SHOULD be doing. All the best to you and Alison in navigating these challenging (to say the least) times.

@sbourne @aardrian I can add it to “Accessibility is Delicious” - just say the word. A reader just alerted me to a broken link and when I asked him why he happened to be reading the article now he said “because it’s about food.” Maybe there is a drop of joy reading food metaphors in this horrible time? lflegal.com/2020/05/accessibil

Now I’m grieving. Soon(ish) it’s back to the work of and inclusion.

Here’s what I wrote the day after the U.S. election: lflegal.com/2024/11/harris-def.

@Thain thanks so much for sharing this slide from my talk at . I’m glad the “show don’t tell” (centering disabled people in digital accessibility work) message resonated with you. Kim Charlson has been involved in lots of US accessibility advocacy. We talked about this, and her involvement in Structured Negotiation, last year during . Here’s the video of that talk. m.youtube.com/watch?v=UyPsEclg

My favorite slide from this year. Thanks @LFLegal

Lainey Feingold on stage at Paris Web and a sign language interpreter in the foreground with a slide that reads :
Show don't tell a bank
"When I saw Kim Charlson literally jump up and down with joy at getting $20 dollars out of an ATM my view on what we should be doing completely changed. I know it's an experience I will carry forward to matter what I do."

@sabderemane here’s what I wrote about the octopus as part of an article about patience- it has the link to the story about the octopus sitting on her eggs for 53 months. lflegal.com/2019/09/patience/#

@mariejulien I like the metaphor because aggressive fear-based lawyers have long been referred to as sharks. But I think I need a new slide warning of “metaphor ahead” and make a disclaimer about the role of sharks in nature😊

@sabderemane thank you. I loved being with the community. The messy ice cream analogy (with credit to its originator) is from my Accessibility is Delicious article- lflegal.com/2020/05/accessibil. Lots more yumminess there
