Today, as every year, I remember and am grateful for the service of my grandfather, P/O Joseph Unsworth DFM, who died with four of his crew in Belgium on 14/10/41. This 🧵 records that mission and the response from the Belgian community who rushed to the crash site afterwards.

They're preventing Palestinians from returning to Northern Gaza and this will spread, sector by sector. The West Bank is going to be squeezed like a grape and the Golan Heights...sigh. Consolidation.

What they're going to do to the Palestinians who refuse to give up their homes, their land....I cannot imagine. It is too much to contemplate.

And the US is -- and will continue to be -- complicit in that.

🇪🇺 🇬🇧 Today we have reached a political agreement in principle with the UK on a new way forward on the Protocol on Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The ‘Windsor Framework’ will allow us to begin a new chapter that will work for all people and businesses in Northern Ireland, with long-lasting solutions that respond directly to their concerns and protect our respective markets.

Most importantly, it protects the peace gains of the Good Friday Agreement.

We can now build a stronger EU-UK partnership.
