At least one good news today. #FCKAFD

I admit the first episodes of Andor were less compelling to me than the first season due to the overall tone and resorting to comedy and idiotic behavior, but the episodes dropped last night got the show back on track and with some incredible acting, the tone again darker and with a sense of loom and imminent danger. The stakes are high and the end is near. We know how it goes but the characters don’t and we can feel their frustrations and fears. Wonderful.

@myfear Thanks, this helps me understand why they are doing this, otoh I think they are only seeing one side of the picture and not the full economic scale, including the actual benefits of the currency (and military) policy that made the States the largest economy. Also, Trump doesn’t really know what he’s doing, he taxed islands inhabited only by penguins… I guess I should read a bit more about Robert Lighthizer though.

Somehow, it’s fascinating to see unfolding the social collapse caused by a madman in power, like if this wasn’t real but just a story out of a dystopian book. Personally, I can’t understand what’s driving his decisions, since even personal gain can’t really justify the stupidity of these actions. The thought that most of the people that voted for him are going to be hit the most is just bittersweet once you realize the proportions and reach of their self-inflicted pain.

Was laid off a month ago from my #accessibility lead position. I've only gotten one callback in that month so far. Trying #getfedihired (#fedihire ?) - been working fulltime in accessibility since 2016, experienced with cross-team collaborations, & had input on design systems and component libraries in addition. #UX is also something I'm familiar with, as that's the closest field aside from accessibility. I'm US based, speak EN but learning JP & beginning FR. Remote/ teletravail please!

The “good” news in this election is the left back in the parliament and the green that didn’t fall completely. The best news is that we got rid of Lindner and his sociopathic party, good riddance, and with a bit of luck also the other sociopath of the bsw. The very bad news is the afd sewage, not so much the 20% overall but the fact that they reached 50% in most of east Germany. I sort of want my solidarity money back, tbh.

The stench in the new German parliament must be unbearable.

I think the best proof we are living in a simulation are the bubbles in a glass of sparkling wine. Yes, I know the physics of it. But, hear me out. The patterns are perfectly repeating over time, it’s like watching a game of life stuck in a loop. Even things like some bubbles moving briefly on the right and back on their path maintain a predictable frequency. That’s the true glitch in the matrix!
