The court ruled 7-2 that Warhol’s images did not constitute “fair use” under #copyrightlaw.
The ruling is beneficial to people who own copyrighted content upon which other works are based, and could have a negative impact upon entities that make new works based on existing material.

If you're rolling your eyes at the number of political posts in your feed, keep in mind that we're at the tipping point of authoritarianism here in the US (and other countries). For example, a political party is deciding whether women live or die in childbirth. The stakes are high, and we'll post about it.
I try to balance my posts with politics and lighter stuff. When it's a politics-heavy day, that balance may tilt toward the political end. But I"m not going to ignore reality altogether.

#Floods are devastating the #EmiliaRomagna region in #Italy right now.
After 2 years of extreme drought, this May we had not a single week without rain. In particular, rain is falling continuously for about 2 o 3 days now (almost 200mm of rain in 48 hours).
The result is 14 overflown rivers
6 people died
thousands of evacuees
shitload of euros of damage
The #Reno river, the main one of the region, didn't overflow yet but water level is dangerously high.
Of course my house is right next its banks but luckily they have been recently raised so maybe hopefully we'll be ok.
This situation resembles a lot the 2021 floods in Western Europe.
So I guess this shit is just routine by now. At lest I hope this events can raise attention about environment management, since this stuff happens at various degrees of seriousness yearly but still water basins management is just LOL

In its latest #OilMarket Report, the International #Energy Agency forecast that #global oil demand would hit 102 million barrels daily, driven by #China, whose oil demand, according to the IEA, reached 16 million bpd two months ago.
