@nicoleblanchard12 I've never been able to delete anything so I have a big backlog of stuff sitting there. I can go through it when I'm stuck or bored and find something I can use... character, plot, whatever. I have no self-control in starting too many new things though.

How about you? Do you draw on your old stuff? What about real life? I can't help my real life experiences creeping in to my stories sometimes...

@nicoleblanchard12 My everyday job keeps me busy, at least it's not boring as I work with kids Would be the perfect place to test run a kids book... if I could ever write one.

Have you ever reached a point where you have too many ideas and not enough time? I'm there now lol.

@nicoleblanchard12 Marketing is hard, I didn't bother with it as I just wanted a print copy for a present. The kids book I'm writing is more so I have something to read to kids I work with, will be quite local too.... sales are just a bonus for me I guess (I don't get many but as I'm not trying to make it my career it's fine.) Social media for me is pretty much just Mastodon.
You touch on some sensitive subjects in Toxic, must be tricky. How do you go with marketing? You seem pretty active.

@nicoleblanchard12 I haven't written a lot, I wrote one book for a present for my partner. We've been together for 15 years and I ran out of ideas for a present. She said "make me something" so I wrote her a book...

I tried to write a few romance stories, turned out erotic fiction lol.. The first one has a plot at least. They are under a pen name and only I know who I am at this stage lol. may share later.

@nicoleblanchard12 Brave and awesome is the message of the first book! Have you written anything besides romance? I'm guessing maybe fantasy from your list of books. A series? It's an effort plotting out a story, I imagine a series is a lot of work. Where are you? Does it show in your writing? I'm in Adelaide, Australia and it definitely shows in mine.

@nicoleblanchard12 That's awesome! Yes, lots of awesome people in the community! I'm working on a series of kids books atm, harder than I thought, trying to do illustrations too, a bit in over my head atm lol. Meet with an indigenous elder soon so I can get permission to use indigenous language in the books. Out of my comfort zone, I started writing a sci-fi short story, it's turning into a novel, that's the genre I guess.! How about you? What are you up to and how do you keep everything fresh?

@eduity @Daojoan Hi, early childhood teacher here. I agree with you, we need to teach children about it..... and we do. We teach 3 year olds by putting on cardboard boxes, pretending to be 'silly' robots and get them to give us instructions to do simple tasks.... and then we make mistakes... children then learn about 'bad robots', giving clear instructions, debugging and more..... my point is don't worry, the kids will be alright.
