On Thursday, 21 May, 1942, the 'Golden Fleece' pulled into Brookmans Park Station. It wasn't a scheduled service. On board was the Russian Peoples' Commissar for Foreign Affairs, Vyacheslav Molotov. Waiting on the platform was Foreign Secretary, Anthony Eden. From there the two, along with their entourages, travelled by car for a top-secret meeting which would lead to the signing of the Anglo-Soviet Treaty. #Hertfordshire #history
