Periodic call for volunteers: we've got a deep slate of Bluetooth classes on the horizon, but we need more classes on other wireless protocols. If you'd be interested in teaching a class on WiFi, Zigbee, LoRa, Thread, etc, let us know at teach@ost2.fyi

📢Call for beta testers!📢
Microsoft mandated the presence of Trusted Platform Modules for new Windows 11 machines. Now's a good time for security experts & hackers to familiarize themselves with what TPMs are, and what they can (and can't) add to the security of a system. You can do that by joining the beta test of the OST2 class "Trusted Computing 2202: TPM 2.0 Programming using Python and the tpm2-pytss libraries" by William Roberts (maker of the tpm2-pytss library) which will start July 14th and run for 1 month. It will take ~8 hours to complete.

Some people assume that because OST releases material for free, that it's not high quality. We need to show them that's not the case, by highlighting how it has helped real engineers. If #OST2 has helped your career, please tell us how, here:

One of the feedbacks we got on our in-person class was that students wanted more specific goals for packet crafting. I suspect, what will become the BT2701 class, which is a programming challenge based class which teaches sending packets with WHAD and Sniffle, will take more than 12 hours…

🙋We've created a new Requests For Proposals (RFPs) page seeking instructors for classes we could potentially fund the development of in the future thanks to Partners (or potential Partners). Instructors and potential instructors should check it out here: ost2.fyi/Training-RFPs.html

We wanted to point out specifically the update to the System Security Learning Path that the excellent low level engineer & researcher Satoshi Tanda @standa_t has agreed to create our long-desired 'Architecture 3001: Intel Virtual Machine Extensions (VMX)' class!

The class is still a ways off, but this will fill an important hole in our curriculum, which is increasingly relevant as Microsoft pushes further into virtualization-based security.
