@davep I've listened to the album in it's entirety many times. I definitely pick up the aspects of social injustice with tracks such as 'Us and Them', but I'm largely missing the link to neurodivergence.

My understanding is that the theme highlights the universal human condition, and the pressures and anxieties of modern living. The fleeting nature of existence and the anxieties involving mortality. With a touch of mental instability. ;)

Of course, music's meaning is entirely up to the beholder, but I have trouble hurdling the fact that Roger Waters wouldn't have had context for the concept of neurodivergence and that leaves me struggling to apply it. If applying the modern lens augments the experience for you, the more power to you!

The weekend is here and I've got a nice little tech weekend planned. I'm going to tear down my home network so I can properly organize and segment my devices, document them, and then I'm going to reconfigure the software stack on my raspberry pi so I can get more bang for my buck. Finally I'm going to physically segment my lab and stand up a learning environment I can share with a few friends who are also learning cyber and sysadmin stuff. I realized the other day that I wasted a ton of time learning the shred command on flash memory. I encrypted a flash drive's full partition and then formatted it and functionally achieved the same if not better results in 5 minutes vs 10 hours.

If you have hearing aids, do NOT install Intel Bluetooth update 23.60.0.1 on your PC. It removed the ability to turn Bluetooth on or off, and removed the ability to connect to Bluetooth devices through the devices menu.

I did my first machine with no help on HackTheBox last night. It was super satisfying to get root without a guide helping me. That said, it was super easy. It did however help with reading pcap files and I gained some comfort with Wireshark. Wins all around!

@Ichinin I didn't figure there was, it was just an exercise for me so I can say with confidence that I can securely dispose of data. Next I'm going to learn about recovery and analysis so I can "prove" to myself the job was done irreversibly.

I used shred on an old 120Gig microSD card and that shit took basically a full day. Now I'm going to write dev random to the whole partition and then rm that. Hopefully by then I will have zero recoverable data on the drive.

Lately I've been using Google messages on my android phone. I know, silly of a privacy focused person to do, but whatever.
Anyway, lately, when discussing taboo topics in my group chats such as web pen testing, or guns, messages sent to the chat are being dropped. I didn't receive a message with an SQL injection and I didn't receive a picture of an AK-47. I'm certain the rest of the group received these messages. I find it fundamentally wrong to have communications intercepted and dropped. In no way should Google determine whether or not I should receive information.
