@metacurity wonder how many complaints they get about it.

@benizi cyber security analyst/engineer/architect (yes I do all 3 in my current role)
Not on X at all.
1-2h a day on mastodon
Mostly keeping up with infosec news, but also keeping up with what the people I follow get up to and posting occasionally.
@hacks4pancakes Giving me flashbacks to my flight in January. Stuck in the plane for 4h because of the snow.
We were fully snowed in. Luckily we had entertainment and food/drinks as this was a long haul flight.
Did cause me to miss my connecting flight and has to stay in Dubai for almost an entire day
I did our first presentation for cyber security awareness month yesterday, titled: Deepfake Detective: Make it you Fake it.
It was an absolute blast to do. Some of the highlights:
🦄 Got profess my love of rainbows and unicorns
👩🏫 Got to teach people on what they can look out for
🤡 Tricked over 80% of people with a fake voice recording of our CEO
🙈 Face swapped the CEO's face onto mine and have us side by side live in the presentation
But by far the best thing from the session was someone posting a comment saying I got their 15 year old engaged into trying to figure out which images and videos were AI generated and which ones were real 🎉

@GossiTheDog that trailer is amazing. They did such a fantastic job in season 1 can’t wait to see what season 2 brings.
I’m also totally ok with there being changes to the story, never makes sense to me how people want a totally different medium to cling to the exact same story. That never works out, as different mediums have different needs.
@GossiTheDog because no-one is as committed as Gossi to never stop, not even for bathroom breaks? 😉
@jerry not sure which one is "better" 20+ or just a few that are several hours each :blobcatthinkingsunglass:
@originlbookgirl @Lana @DavidNorth This was my thought exactly. lol
I do this with my child and it is very effective.
You can apply this in almost any setting, I've have been doing it at work as well. Works just as well.
@SecurityWriter back in the day when I used to go to music festivals all the time, I had some custom made earplugs that were tuned. They seemed like magic at the time.
They would block out the “bad” loud sounds, but I could still hear people speak without them needing to scream.
Sounds like you might need some of those tunes specifically to block out the frequencies annoying you.
Being custom made also meant they have been the only in ear devices that stayed in place. Earbuds and the like just seem to fall out of my ear all the time (yes I tried all the different sizes, shapes and whatnot)
@GossiTheDog when I get asked this, the answer is: like I got most of my other “promotions”, by putting my hand up when someone was needed to do something in that area.
I think you can still do it this way now, but everyone wants the quickest way, which my path certainly wasn’t. Took over 10 years starting on the service desk. But I am very happy with that path as it gave me so much knowledge I see lacking in others about how the basics
@SwiftOnSecurity playing Total Annihilation against my brother over a null modem. Those were the days.
@SwiftOnSecurity you know what’s even better, when they do this for browser logins only.
I’ve had so many agreements over this 🤦♀️
@0x7eff @gary_alderson Awesome. Thanks. I'll check it out.
@gary_alderson I wholeheartedly agree, It's so important to know things about how other teams work. It's unfortunately impossible to be across all of it 😞
I know where I could do audio and image deepfakes, but not sure about video.
Maybe one of the many face swapping apps will do what I need.
Figured I'd reach out first before spending hours researching.
Anybody got any recommendations on where I could generate a quality deepfake videos?
The CEO at my company agreed to have a deepfake made of him for cyber security month.
I’d like it to look as good so people would conceivably be fooled. This will tie in with a session will run on spotting deepfakes.
PS I know this sounds dodgy 🤣
@hacks4pancakes I just took all the rituals I like and made my own combination 😎
@GossiTheDog I wonder if this is because it’s government body. Fundamentally their number one priority would be to keep transport going.
No shareholders that need the number to keep going up.
So they rightfully chose the path that offered the best outcome for their core service offering and kept transport going.
Btw, I think Transport for London have done a really good job containing this. It would have been much worse, one suspects, had they not.
It sucks for staff but they prioritised customer service (i.e. transport) and safety over short term recovery, and that is very likely the correct pivot. I've seen these things go the opposite direct when orgs under react and it often ends really poorly.
