They took the council here, so I can't wait for them to strut into the university demanding we stop "DEI" and get laughed at.

10yo: Do you think technology will ever get so good we could 3D print humans?
Wife: We already can, Iโve done it twice.
10yo: Mom, gross!
We hadnโt won World War II by May 8th. I know because my family and I were still in an internment camp in Tule Lake, California.
"WPS AI revolutionizes your workflow by offering functions like AI-Powered document scanner, AI-generated content, rewriting, ChatPDFs, and more."
I am now less intelligent than I was before I read that. A part of my soul has gone on permanent vacation, leaving me high and dry.
Evri sending me "WE HAVE YOUR PARCEL!" emails sound much more ominous when I have no idea what I bought and what's coming.

I would have thought her ankles were more at risk.
i got tired of seeing the meme with the ai-art otter (i don't even remember what the meme was about) so i quickly sketched an otter holding a sign. i didn't use the original for reference, so the sign proportion is totally different. also i don't often draw otters so this might not look very otterlike. also it's grumpy
feel free to use it however you like
It has to be a white guy, straight and cis, definitely, but someone has to do it, right?
@ianb
A lot of people are going to find out the hard way that you can't run a government on "common sense".
Especially people whose common sense is calibrated on believing that 'Road Tax' is still a thing.
Everyone to the Left of Nick Clegg: "We'd really like to vote for you. Can you give us a reason why?"
Labour: "Eat shit and die, looney leftists. Now, Reform peeps, what can we do to cozy up to you?"
The Far-Right: "Absolutely nothing. We hate you."
Labour: "What if we made life awful for trans people?"
The Far-Right: "Did I fucking stutter?"
**later**
Labour: "Why is no one voting for us?"
Centrists: take the "explain *every* data point and not just the ones that help you blame a nebulous Left for literally everything" challenge!
Sure, 'disaster' for Labour, but the Conservatives lost just over 3.5x as many seats, almost exactly the number Reform gained.
So, with a little wiggle room for FPTP shenanigans, it does look like the ones supporting the racist/xenophobic culture war twats simply upped shop and moved over to the other, even more raxist/xenophobic culture war twats, and *not* to Labour.
Who could possibly have predicted this?
@brianb
Presenting on a molecule is a good one, because you'll be hitting multiple useful skills at once (research from reliable sources, speaking, citations, visual aids that aren't crowded messes). Just be clear that's the point, not to memorise trivia about the one they pick.
Possibly at least show them that ChemDraw and ChemSketch etc. exist if they haven't already, in case any of them are tempted to do it a much harder way.
"Is This Annoying and Harder to Read? Exploring the Overuse of the Simple Statement, Colon or Question Mark, then Longer Explanation Format in Academic Publication and Presentation Titles"
This is fun. (No context; both ChatGPT and Claude, even though I started a new chat, converted A5 paper to miles for the second query - both gave 0.000092 miles by 0.00013 miles).
Ran across this from seven years ago. Still the same agenda:

I thought "This server seems unhappy, let's reboot it" was standard practice.
England has it's local elections today.
As a reminder to Reform voters. If you go along to the polling stations tomorrow instead, they'll be much quieter.
Supporters of Britain First will also be breathing a sigh of relief. As it will be one of the rare moments they'll be allowed within 500 yards of a school.
