The application deadline for the Mary Kelley Prize and other SHEAR book prizes has been extended! The new deadline is April 1.
The Mary Kelley Prize is awarded to the best book published on the history of women, gender, or sexuality in the Early American Republic, 1776-1861.

SHEAR invites participants for a reconfigured online Graduate Student Research Workshop for the Spring 2025 semester!
The workshop is open to all current graduate students (or recipients of a 2024-2025 degree) with a work-in progress on the history of the early United States and its world.

Attention, SHEARites! Please note a correction to the location and address for tonight's Presidential Address and SHEAR Awards Ceremony. The #SHEAR2024 Presidential Address will be held at Franklin Hall at the American Philsophical Society, located at 427 Chestnut St. This event begins at 4:30pm.
The Awards Reception will follow at 6:00pm at the Athenaeum of Philadelphia, located at 219 S. 6th Street.
