It is done. After rage quitting Hollow Knight years ago, I finally managed to come back with a vengeance and clear it to the credits. Not full completion, but I am satisfied. Honor is restored.

I just find some of the design decisions of DOOM 2016 baffling. Lowered soundtrack volume during glory kills? Level design full of jaggies that you get stuck on in a movement shooter? Creating difficulty with tanky enemies instead of larger crowds? Bunch of the weapons and their mods being redundant and unfun? Not a very fun game to be honest but I guess at least it's not Hexen.

To spell this out clearly, the reason RAM has quadrupled in price is that a huge quantity of RAM that hasn't been produced yet has been bought with money that doesn't exist to populate GPUs that also haven't been produced to go in datacenters that haven't been built powered by infrastructure that may never exist to meet a demand that doesn't exist at all to make profit margins that mathematically can't exist while economists talk about this thing they call the "rational markets hypothesis".

I am getting very sick and tired of our work culture at the org. We keep messing up things again and again and choosing not to learn anything, then patting ourselves on the back for what a good job we are doing. Any call for improvement is instantly shut down with this "but our team is doing so well!" BS.

Whoops. Complained in a work chat that our release was totally busted for the third time this year and this exec comes to play defense about how excellently everyone has been doing their part and how maybe I should have raised concerns earlier and privately. Told him I will not raise concerns next year and we can all just settle for our preferred level of excellence. I think I am not long for this company at this point.
