@linmob 14 days left and still only 5% funded. Looks like the market for such devices has dried up completely.

Hello 🌏 ! This is #phosh's new fediverse presence. It'll have phosh's release announcements and posts/boosts of related projects. Looking forward to an interesting and bright Linux mobile future 📱 :phosh: .
Many thanks to fosstodon for hosting us for so long!
Credits: thanks to Richard for providing the FDAI. I worked on this with @CuriousMarc, @tubetime, and Mike Stewart.

Here's a photo of an /actual/ cat-faced orchid looks like - the photo Google's AI overview ought to use in its answer.
But then…
Showing people what a real version looks might discourage them from engaging with the row of sponsored links that also show on the results page…
An extremely welcome initiative from the 🇪🇺 #eu:
🔋Phone Batteries must retain 80% capacity after 800 cycles.
📱Phone makers must provide 5 years of updates,
🪛 are banned from discriminating against repair shops,
🔧 and must provide parts for 7 years after EOL

@sembiance @faeempress There have been several of these PPC boards. A current project is https://mirari.vitasys.nl/

@elvishcraftsman It's good enough to even run my bank's online banking app, which is a lot since it doesn't even run on all Android devices.
The biggest remaining issue I guess would be missing Bluetooth support.
@elvishcraftsman That already exists, it's called #Waydroid.
@Wendinope @agx @Gnome I didn't do any setup. I installed the Debian unstable package half a year ago and that was it.
@Wendinope @agx @Gnome There's not much to setup. It builds against Hunspell and Presage by default and exposes a very simple configuration dialogue (currently in "Mobile Settings" but that could change).
@zak Jesus. Pocket is supported by many e-Book readers, e.g. my Kobo can sync whole articles for offline reading. I doubt e-Book manufacturers will add other services instead, so Mozilla just removed a major feature from millions of devices.
@pak0st I have completely lost track of how many different Wayland protocols there are now. If Color Management is any example, we will get a good and complete input protocol in 2049.
@farooqkz Never thought about that one. Apart from those "voice assistants" nobody seems to use anymore, it is probably also very important for accesability?
@zak This. The OS I am using doesn't have to be "convergent" in the sense that I get a full-blown desktop if I connect my phone to a monitor, but every single GUI application must be able to adapt to the most common screen sizes as far as humanly possible.
Perfectly good "desktop" applications like #KeepassXC, #Thunderbird etc. not adapting to a phone is the same waste of developer time as some "mobile" application making zero use of the additional desktop space. It's simply a bug.
@realsimon The FOSS world at least has to make sure the gap in those few areas in which machine learning actually works doesn't get too big, yes.
