A while back, a developer named Steve Williams contributed a working draft for a JPEG 2000 export plug-in for #GIMP (it suited their needs, but needed some work to be more general)

I took some time to finish polishing it, and now you can export 8 and 16bpc JPEG 2000 images, both as JP2 containers and J2K codestreams. However! I'm not sure what export options are relevant to include in the export dialogue.

If you use JPEG 2000, I'd appreciate any suggestions of what controls to add!

The Inkscape project is empty of windows developers and needs some help fixing a fairly serious issue: https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/-/issues/5219

If I had a windows machine, I'd have tried to fix this one. But I'm completely at sea for this type of issue without the OS on hand. (don't try developing on a VM or old computer, Inkscape is too big and slow to build on windows for that)

If your #Inkscape version in 'Help > About Inkscape' is '1.4.2 (ebf0e94....)', you need to redownload updated packages from our website to be able to export raster images other than PNG!

I swear (and did swear, a lot) that splash screen feature that was merged into #inkscape last October is one the most cursed things ever merged into Inkscape.

A feature introduced by an outside contributor in a point release (bad), had to be re-written because it was so broken (very bad), even then forced the 1.4.1 release to be withdrawn (extremely bad) and even now crashes macOS 1.4.2 if you open a file with the inkscape binary.

I'm not going to push for 1.4.2 to be withdrawn. But I'm upset.

@doctormo Just upgraded to 1.4.2 on my Macbook and can confirm that opening SVG's from Finder with Inkscape will crash (any filetype). But running /path/to/inkscape /path/to/svg from terminal does work, get the splash screen and everything🤔
