I might be lonely at a Tim’s but I’m not this lonely ..
A broken man on a #Halifax pier. Just some wannabe, suppose I could do better. Middled aged Canadian, child of immigrants who can't relate to them. Attempting every day to be a good person to all walks of folks and life. I don't always succeed. Love all things computer related, admirer of engineers professional and amateurs especially. Hoping your motivation rubs off on me.

Sigh so lonely.
Long gone are the days when hanging on IRC with friends late at night and spontaneously going , “Midnight Tim’s run?” And then figuring out which Tim’s in the city and suburbs we haven’t gone to yet.
@jerry yeah I’ve been reading about the those from wiz , and while I understand the protections to take , i kind of want t see an actual one. I’ll definitely take a look all the same though, thanks!
Maybe I’ll make a tutorial from this
Hey has anyone any examples of bad / vulnerable GitHub action workflows ?
Studying for an interview.

Nova Scotia Power has repeatedly said that data from the ransomware attack it suffered has been published on the dark web. Yet not one media outlet or anyone I know has reported finding any data from this anywhere, and no ransomware group that I track has claimed responsibility for this incident.
Does anyone know where these data have allegedly been published? If so, please contact me privately.
This is the moment Rej's open source Z80 woke up and said hello!
After Zilog’s April 2024 announcement, ReJ quickly taped out a drop-in replacement to preserve retrocomputing and legacy systems.
Taped out on TT07, it's a landmark in democratizing chip design.
So there I am , spot cleaning off bird poop from my little hatchback car. I was using an old milk jug to pour water over the select spots while spraying cleaning solution with another bottle. At the end I figured to just dump the water over the cleaned spots on the top of the car.
A kid walks by with their parent and looks mildly confused and asks what I'm doing.
"Well, see my car is little and I'm watering it hoping it can grow up to be a big SUV someday!"
Parent giggled and I explained I was just cleaning it :D
@darkuncle Feels like I could totally turn that into a Shaggy Dog type story :D
Well thanks, @darkuncle ! You could say it was inspired by my dad at bit, but less.. ahh ominous :D
So to get an idea, my dad was a 6'0"; a practicing Sikh with a turban, full beard, brown, kind of stood out because, not a lot of Indians about. But he was somewhat social and I'm told good at disarming people with a sense of humour (which I think he reserved for people outside the family!)
In the 80's and early 90's the family was prone to driving everywhere from Eastern Canada to the north eastern states and Milwaukee. Even less Indians with turbans :)
On one of these trips, I can't recall if it was New Jersey, or Maine or some place on the way to Washington DC, we stopped for gas at one of those Interstate side rest stops, in our little Dodge Omni.
Its a hot day, dad was cheap and we had no AC, so the windows were open and while dad was out filling the tank, i decided it was time to stretch my legs and walk around the car. A whole lotta nothing around.
Another car pulls up to the other side of the gas pumps, the windows are open, guess they didn't have AC too. There's a little kid in there about 10 years old or so, leaning out the window while the mom-type parent gets out to fill up her car too. She nods and smiles at us, and proceeds to fill the car with gas. Not to be racist, but yes they were white folks :)
So while all this is happening, the kid was staring at my dad, eyebrows up and eyes wide open. In a small but clear voice that only 10 year olds have, "Mom! Is that man a genie?!"
Mom looks horrified over at dad. Dad is laughing and winks at the mom and says while laughing, "Yes! Wanna see how fast I can make you disappear?"
Mom laughs it off a bit nervously, my dad thinks its the funniest thing, and I admit I was laughing a bit too.
It was much later on in life I realized that had some potentially ominous implications :D

Suddenly, QUIC implementations start using ECH to hide the QUIC transport parameters. During discussions in the SCONE WG, we learned that some telcos are doing "deep packet inspection" of the QUIC initial message, to find out whether the connection will be doing video, and then throttle it. Current DPI looks for the SNI, which ECH hides. But there is a lot of information in the QUIC transport parameters. Need to hide that too!
@darkuncle @BrianEnigma sounds like a Caterham :)
@da_667 no it’s fine, it’s a very specific thing to the Libre-Wolf browser on purpose. All the other browsers work fine and show the “dark mode” site properly
@da_667 Dark mode on win and in browsers
Update: Scratch that, Libre-wolf turns off that detection to reduce browser signature. Works in dark mode on Firefox.
This is how often i use the old Dell T630 for "homelab" stuff.. ha..
