Interesting policy by @CityWestminster@twitter.com in London. It is converting some car parking bays into e-scooter parking. It charges e-scooter rental companies ££ per trip. The revenue from those e-scooter trips more than compensates the loss of car parking revenue committees.westminster.gov.uk/

This year the Chief Medical Officer report is on air pollution, which kills up to 38,000 people annually (from the mortality burden of long-term exposure to outdoor air pollution) in England.

In the active travel section (p.132) me and Eleanor Roaf discuss School Streets, LTNs and improved walking & cycling facilities for decarbonising transport.

YAY, I'm one of @WeAreCyclingUK's #100WomenInCycling of 2022 πŸ₯³ 🚲

And in such amazing company 😍

cyclinguk.org/100women/2022

In 2020, men made more than double the amount of cycle trips than #women.

And don't even get me started on the stats for #teenagers 😱

We need safe #cycling infrastructure to enable people to take up cycling. This is the most important thing we can do to get women (and girls!) cycling. #100WomenInCycling

In 2021 she co-founded Kidical Mass Bath - a regular group ride where families take to the streets to show that people of all ages and abilities want to cycle. Saskia has also helped other groups across the UK to set up their own events.

As Bicycle Mayor for Bath, Saskia has raised the profile of cycling in Bath and beyond. She has recently joined the family cycling website Cycle Sprog as content editor.

Photo of s white woman with an NJ tube sitting on a cargo trike with a fluffy white toy poodle standing up in the front bucket. As a disabled cyclist using a cargo trike to travel around, Harrie (along with her dog Frida) uses social media to demonstrate how enjoyable and inclusive cycling can be, as well as highlighting the specific barriers that disabled cyclists face in their everyday travels. She raised Β£10,000 to establish a non-standard cycle loan scheme to lend trikes to disabled people for free for three months.

β€œMy trike is my primary mode of transport. It’s convenient and good for the environment, and it also makes everyday journeys great fun and supports my physical and mental health.”

like if you're using #disabilityjustice and these principles & genealogies aren't what you're referring to?

then i tangibly have no clue what you mean. and as more people involved with DJ work potentially migrate to the wooly mammoth fart factory, i imagine they will be as equally confused as me

@TricycleMayor My disability hasn't limited me much yet but I've been advocating about how #BegButtons reinforce #CarCulture for some time. Trying to use them from a #bakfiets helped me notice even more how physically inaccessible some are.

@TricycleMayor I hate these things! I started noticing them when I got my cargo bike, especially with an adult passenger, and that got me thinking about how much worse they are for three wheelers. Thankfully. I don't see many new ones here in Victoria, BC, but they are nasty.

@pentastich I hate these as well. Never dismount as trikes are hell to push.

What makes a bikeable neighborhood?
As this 2019 #OpenAccess paper
in #JTLU by Salon, Conway, Wang, & Roth suggests, the answer depends in part on age and gender.
