@jabgoe2089 That's true, it failed this time only, but it will be back. :(
Tuta is the secure email service with automatic encryption. We protect your emails from everyone - even from us! Committed to privacy and open source.

@Tutanota hey Tuta. I appreciate the work youβre doing fighting for our privacy on social media.
In return Iβll fight to adopt your email services within our company.
Letβs see where this takes us π
Read our Open Letter: π https://tuta.com/blog/open-letter-against-chat-control
And learn why #ChatControl must be stopped:
π¨ Undermines Europe's digital sovereignty
π¨ Weakens everybody's security
π¨ Destroys trust in the European tech industry
𧡠(7/7)
If we allow this Trojan Horse through the gates, weβll lose the very principle of private communication.
We must say no to Chat Control! Not because we donβt care about safety, but because mass surveillance destroys safety for everyone.
𧡠(6/7)
Ask yourself this: Would you install a camera in your bathroom so the government can "make sure nothing bad happens"? Interestingly, EU governments themselves don't want the AI to scrape their data.
Check whose data the AI will be able to scan:
β Government
β Military
β YOU
𧡠(5/7)
AI technology designed to detect illegal material cannot distinguish between "good" and "bad" speech. It opens the door for governments, now or in the future, to monitor all messages, photos, and videos. Once the infrastructure for scanning is in place, it can and will be used for other means as well.
𧡠(4/7)
In Europe everyone is talking about #DigitalSovereignty - which is great! But we can't have that and undermine our sovereignty by giving law enforcement the key to all encrypted communication. To us at Tuta it's clear:
"There are no backdoors for the good guys only".
𧡠(3/7)
Once built, such a system isn't just able to scan for harmful content, it could very well be used or abused to look for anything interesting:
π Your credit card details
π Your sexual orientation
π Your businesses' customer lists
𧡠(2/7)
Today is the day Mr. Hummelgaard wanted to push through a vote on Chat Control in the EU Council. But he failed! π
However, Chat Control will be back, so let's look at what this law means for everyone, not just here in Europe:
#ChatControl is nothing but a Trojan Horse for citizens and businesses in Europe. Why?
𧡠(1/7)
#ChatControl must never come back. πͺ
β Breaks encryption
β Destroys privacy
This would make free discussion online impossible, create a backdoor for abusers and authoritarian regimes, and endanger journalists & activists.
Privacy is not a crime. #StopChatControl
Encryption is a human right.
@suri Thanks for this, it motivates us when we go back to work on Monday. πͺ
@Tutanota Got my son the Tutanota Gift Card. What better present could you give a loved one? Firstly, they are getting a year's worth of the world's best privacy-first email. Secondly, you know you are in the best hands if you need support. Thirdly, you are helping an EU company to develop the most important infrastructure we will need in the coming decades: that is a privacy-first and secure platform where YOUR data belongs to YOU! Thank you Tuta for making this dream into a reality.
@neurovagrant @rysiek Thanks for your feedback. We've updated the toot, it now reads malicious attackers.
Host Europe & DomainFactory are migrating their users' emails to MS 365 β and users are not happy. π€―
GoDaddy turned trusted German hosters into a textbook case of #enshittification.
Time to switch to truly European alternatives. βοΈ
