@intransitivelie I agree that every step counts, and that we should be open to any and all ideas here. But I don’t see taxing the rich as a particularly pragmatic option at this point.

The only time in history that’s ever been pulled off was to fight a world war against foreign authoritarians; it was a massive existential crisis at the time.

@intransitivelie I think there’s a better way to achieve ubi than taxing the billionaires. Big tech has built the biggest empire known to man by harvesting our personal data, which is the salt, gold, oil, etc of our time. If we built tech platforms with data sovereignty at its core, people could take back the value they produce with every tweet, every comment, every upload, etc.
