Maybe that is the cause of one of the import file errors, then.

Maybe that is the cause of one of the import file errors, then.
Some failures occurred with all but one of the imported files. How do I handle that? I've haven't downloaded the failure CSVs to look at them yet.
Yeah, I've been speaking with Ashley Spencer while in the process of migrating. π

Bummer, no multi-select for file import! π

I'm in the process of exporting, but Mastodon.social doesn't allow exporting Followers. Will that be an issue? Will people have to follow me @ autistics.life all over again? Certainly an opportunity to "find out who my true friends are", but....
Why, it's nearly still morning here! (Joshing.)
I'm actually doing that now, but for different reasons of course. I've had a long-dormant account on another host that I've never used, so I can try that at some point.
And good night....
They're usually the best programmers.

I'm in! Now the migration begins....
I actually was in IT, and quite respected, but I confess that networking was not my strongest suit and certainly not social media programming....
Is this related, then? And does that mean that I've been experiencing the same divergence but was ignorant of it?
@ashleyspencer @punishmenthurts @pathfinder @dyani
Thank you. I was able to deal with the person today, tried to be the adult and elicit an apology so that there was reason to remain in contact, but the encounter was still deeply disturbing. I'm left blaming myself even though I know that I shouldn't, n'est-ce pas? I won't always be as adaptive as I was today.
So... I suppose I'm sold! What are the mechanics for migration within the Fediverse? I'm a newbie.

Hello! My question is regarding server rules and how those might protect me from *ahem* unpleasantness like what I endured today. It's happened several times before, and it disturbs me greatly. I'd be inclined to share a screenshot privately unless you've already seen it.
That's a very generous character limit, more than adequate, BTW.
@punishmenthurts @pathfinder @dyani @ashleyspencer
Aha, I'll tell her you sent me! π
> I canβt see all of your posts right now on my main account Dyani
That's just weird... SOME of her posts but not all?
Kevin (or Amygdalai), do you know the address (name? ID?) of the autistics.life server owner? I'm thinking I might share what happened today with them/her and ask how they/she would interpret that or respond. That's rather direct (that's me), but it would answer the question affirmatively.
Even a character limit of 2000 is good, 11K would be crazy-generous.
I've been seeing a lot of beige.party, not so sure about social.coop, but I like the coop concept. I'm not sure if it's affordable to me when we're already in financial distress, but I'll have a look.
Are character limits usually advertised, or do I have to find out the hard way?
So which host do I choose? I want (a) a better character limit than 500 and (b) server rules that would prohibit the cruelty of today.
Is there one? (B) would be a big ask of most social media; none of them want to get in the middle of such "personal disputes".
I'm pretty sure that I already do Follow ActuallyAutistic. I made some effort early on to Follow as many sensible neurodivergent people as I could find (obviously not the sort I encountered today).
I confess the rules here are too lax and don't regulate behavior like I was subjected to today, so I'm looking for a host that (a) has a better character limit and (b) has rules that would prevent repeats of today's unwarranted cruelty.
Okay, so the mastodon.social rules of behavior don't protect me from that sort of reply; it didn't break its rules, so there's nothing for me to report.
Kevin, dyani, what servers do you know where that person's first comment and general behavior WOULD break the server's rules and thus give me some protection (at least after the fact)? I'm a little scared to jump hosts, but I'll consider it if it can at least stop repeats of today.
