The UK Data Bill amendment for digital verification services to record 'sex at birth' and 'acquired gender' is set to be rejected.

This would've effectively created a transgender label.

With the government given powers to change data protection rules at any time without Parliamentary scrutiny, this data could be used to discriminate against #trans people in an increasingly hostile climate.

The web feels so broken. Subscription and login gates at every corner. Using Google on a phone now means being periodically quizzed on which of the buttons to press to *not* be redirected to the app store. Opening an Instagram link casually throws up a browser alert dialog because it tries to automatically open an unsupported URL scheme, presumably their own app, and apparently everyone is fine with it. I'm proud that Mastodon never locks public content behind login walls.

@adra recuerdo que una vez, queriendo entrar a la tienda de Xbox, me tardé como 15-20min. porque no me dejaba iniciar con una cuenta que uso para juegos únicamente y en modo incógnito me estaba dando errores al cargar, siempre quería iniciar con mi cuenta normal o con la universitaria >:(
