I knew it, I was sleep deprived last night, but I was pretty sure I was right.
Also, I think I may have called you Annie as my brain regularly mixes up your Ammienoot handle in my head. Apologies!

Solid planning there Anne-Marie.

NASA recovered a space probe's 47-year-old computer with about as much memory as my old Commodore 64 over a distance of 15 billion miles so it can (hopefully) continue to do science work, and it reminds me of how much ingenuity used to go into computers back when the assumption was you couldn't consume the water and electricity of a small nation just to power Ask Jeeves.

@jimgroom I recently played through Quake 2 and really enjoyed it. Always loved that game. It was a little more polished on the Nintendo Switch remaster, which added a lot to the experience.
@grantpotter Awesome stuff! You must be a very proud Dad. ๐
@jimgroom Ooooh interesting. although I'm more confused than when I stared ๐. Not sure how you pulled that off, perhaps I'm reading the plugin instructions wrong. Will have to explore further.
@jimgroom Ah right, I see. Exactly the same yeah.
I noticed that there's a share button in JetPack now for selective posting to my main Mastodon account, maybe this provides the best of both worlds. Maybe a good solution after all then. I think it's kinda nice having an optional blog feed (blog@alexmasters.com) people can follow if they want.
I can't find bava.social anywhere - this is my main gripe with Mastodon, although Mammoth solves most of my complaints. A blog on the way about that ๐
I thought I'd pop back onto Mastodon to see how things are going here. I've been regularly trying out Threads, however, it's chock full of junk in the 'For You' feed, which it defaults to every time you open the app / site.
Mastodon, on the other hand, had been buggy for me and it put me off for some time. How are things these days?
Anyone about...?
Hi Jim!
I noticed you have the Bava sharing to the fediverse, directly through your main account. Are you using any specific plugin to do this or are you doing it manually?
I still have the ActivityPub plugin running in WordPress but it sends to a separate Mastodon profile. I'd quite like the option to send direct to my main profile. Any pearls of wisdom?
Big love.
