Also, this is an odd hodgepodge of things. I don't represent anyone else with this hodgepodge.
I just got the print proof of the story I have coming out in DreamForge Magazine next month, and it's GORGEOUS. This is dream-come-true magic.

8 years ago I wrote a story that I felt really good about. It was so different from what I had written in the past, and there was something wonderful about it. There was also a lot that wasn't quite right.
Over the years I made little edits. This past year, I did a big edit. I was really proud of it. It hit the notes much better. It felt better.
Today I'm happy to share that the revised story got its acceptance letter!
More details when the contract is signed! Woohoo!
@dhwrtr In terms of dramatic arc, yes. I find _this_ arc particularly problematic because it's usually (or could be) about someone with a disability (maybe PTSD or Autism) growing or learning their way out of disability. Which... come on now.
Almost all movies I've seen that have characters who don't speak, end the movie with the character speaking.
Almost all movies I've seen that have characters who don't cry, end the movie with the character crying.
I understand they're trying to make an arc, but sometimes people never talk and never cry. And, honestly, it's become so predictable that it's not even a good story arc anymore.
Do you think you might be #Autistic, but still doubting? Wondering what that would mean for your life? I'm offering a free workshop on the 5 stages of accepting it and creating your better life.

@nathanlovestrees I really really like this. "Extend personhood to all things" in particular really resonates with me.
The clock reads 8:78. I am confused.
