@odienator weirdly, this is exactly what I’m seeing about the new pic. A bunch or usually sensible people going “Ugh, critics. What do you want? A meditation on the nature of existence? They clearly hate videogames.” Frustrating as hell. I’m not gonna judge anyone for liking it, but… god did it miss the mark for me

The media, at least those that are even bothering to cover it, are truly missing the forest for the trees. The disaster of the bird site is not its garbage performance and functionality “clunkiness.” It’s that it’s a goddamned misinformation fascist propaganda engine. That’s it. That’s the story. @odienator YIKES… that is scary in far too many ways. Had been tempted to revisit the old Mario movie since there’s been a lot of “it’s good actually” takes, but… no. Just no.

Day two of being irrationally mad about the Mario movie, which wasn’t helped by someone who responded to my comment about how one particular character/joke felt wildly out of place by explaining the (really fucking obvious) joke to me

Pratt isn’t bad. He’s not good, either. He’s pretty much a complete absence of anything memorable either way.

The Mario Bros movie seems like it was written by plugging random shit into Chat GPT or something. Which is bizarre, cos a lot of the creatives involved seem to be incredibly smart people. But it is just so freaking bad on so many levels. Casting Chris Pratt as Mario is one of the least baffling choices they made. Which says a lot.

I am irrationally angry at the #SuperMarioBrosMovie.
