I make things and break things.
Frequently seen on a bicycle, often posting food pics of recipes in progress.
Networks fascinate me.

Y'all⦠why aren't we doing routine random viral load tests of pet blood draws? As a public health effort, basically.
@TerrorBite yeah guess we've been around a bit.
New data here. The upshot:
β’ Now we have real-life data on the bivalent COVID vaccines
β’ Yes, they are goodβ¦really good
β’ Theyβll do a much better job of keeping you out of the hospital
β’ For people of all ages
β’ Including against newest COVID variants (BQ etc)
β’ If your last COVID shot was <Sep (adults) or <Oct (kids), get a new shot _immediately_
β’ If your country doesnβt have them yet, bring the torches & pitchforks to your govβs health admins

#SBWU stores are striking all this weekend due to corporate's refusal to roll out improvements at the stores that have #unionized, in an attempt by Schultz to destroy their collective progress.
https://inthesetimes.com/article/starbucks-strike-union-labor-workers-united-nlrb here's a small progressive outlet talking about the issue; in short, don't cross the line, even at non-union (i.e. non-striking) #Starbucks.
@BoozyBadger
I see everything is going just fine over on the hellsite :birdsite:
An entrance to NYC's Central Park will serve as a permanent acknowledgement of the five teenagers who were wrongfully convicted in 1989 of the brutal assault of a jogger (the so-called "Central Park Five"). Entrances around the Central Park perimeter have historically been named for the varied groups the park serves, e.g.., "Engineers' Gate". "Artists' Gate", etc. Now there will also be a Gate of the Exonerated, at the northeast corner of the park.

Gotta keep some UHT/shelf-stable on hand for emergencies!
@ben_zen That's "Mr. The Plague".
@kabi
Some of them come with a little contextβI like recipes that have a reasoning and logic, so some of them have narrative intros, but I tire of these long-winded spiels before and between recipe parts.
I highly recommend just building a site! Friends ask me how I cook things all the time, and I like to cook in a bunch of styles, so keeping notes has led me to decide to aggregate these in one spot.
@TheADHDHobbyist
I'm working on that "90s but refined" look, and reworking the theme slowly. CSS is my mortal enemy, but it's getting there.
I've been working on building out a personal site, and one of the things I'm using it for is storing recipes as I build them. Last night, I cooked a revised version of a simple baked spaghetti, and it turned out really, really wellβso here's the revised recipe, with notes on also prepping a standard grocery store bakery garlic bread alongside:

Eyes whizzing back and forth as we learn to speed-scroll documents nimbly between our fingers, unfortunately now having to rewind in real time to find parts to re-read.
Tools are devised to automate this, and editing based on splicing sections becomes the norm.
I think I prefer our current inherited system instead.
TIL: There is a cursed color in the Kodak ProPhoto RGB color space which, when converted to sRGB using pre-August-2020-Security-Update Android's image conversion routines, causes an integer overflow and a crash due to a rounding error. Some dude accidentally created an image (https://www.flickr.com/photos/gaurav_agrawal/48746079687/) which contains the cursed color on a single pixel. In 2020 if you set this image as your desktop on a Google or Samsung device, the device would brick & lose all onboard data https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXKvwPjCGnY
