Anyone got a good recommendation for books on conceptual figure design? Not something software-specific, I’m thinking something more akin to Tufte’s Beautiful Evidence, but more focused on the concept figure. #AcademicChatter

Scenes from a (Quiet) Revolution.
For the last two weeks, the street between two elementary schools in #Montreal have been closed to cars.
My son goes to one of them. The drop-off and pick-up, which used to be dangerous and stressful, have become a real pleasure—something to look forward to.
Take a look:

Our eldest dog soon learnt that a medical intervention of any sort earnt her a treat so you soon just had to look at her foot and a treat was demanded. She then extended this to her deserving a treat if another dog had a medical intervention. Then if I do something to Stuart that may be considered medical. Yesterday I was cleaning my camera with q-tips, which I also use on her ears. She watched me intently then demanded a treat for my medical intervention on the camera😂

I'm thinking about getting into #vermicomposting. Someone should talk me out of this idea
I wish I had half the media savviness and foresight as Greta Thunberg. She knows exactly what she is doing. She predicted what would happen to her and the rest of her team. She knew she was putting her body and life on the line. She was betting on this. She used the attention she got from her climate activism to bring attention to other causes. She was the perfect person for Western media to elevate. She was white, a girl, mostly harmless. Embodied the kind of passive activism that corporate media wanted to celebrate. Giving the opposition a voice without any real ability or threat.
Now she has taken the platform they have given her and made herself a threat. She is supporting causes that directly impact the imperial way of life and she is doing so in ways that are less passive. They only wish they could take away all the media they have already given her and fame they heaped onto her when she was a harmless teenager.
Be prepared for stories to come out to that questions her integrity as a person. They will sling mud, and cause us to question her as a person, her values... they will find ways to alienate her from our hearts because that is the most powerful weapon they have against her.
Don't fall for it.

The LAPD Tactical Donut shot works quite well as a cover for all kinds of classics, tbh

"NIH scientists publish declaration criticizing Trump’s deep cuts in public health research"
"Employees from all 27 NIH institutes and centers gave their support to the declaration. Most who signed are intimately involved with evaluating and overseeing extramural research grants."
Oh man, do I watch the Pacers game tonight or tune into #Monsterdon. Existential dilemma here
