@nuthatch To the yt-dlp Mobile, post-haste!

@mooseallain.bsky.social @nuthatch As it goes for our generation, a lot of these tracks are nowhere to be found on streaming services so we must turn to YouTube, having had to relinquish our vinyl collections long ago 😭 But at least I got to take a fun Who Sampled crawl today whosampled.com/Wildchild-(UK-P (The correct "but which version" answer is the master of big beat, Fatboy Slim's of course)

@siegel QQ for you as I browse through the MacHack ballot list and recall my attendance a scant 25 years ago, did you end up maintaining Divestiture? šŸ˜† hax.com/MacHack/Hack2000Ballot

I gave an opening keynote at the FIDO Alliance’s ā€œAuthenticateā€ conference a few weeks ago! Although it featured timely strategies and tips for professionals deploying passkeys, my primary goal was to explain, as clearly as I can, why passkeys are important and how we should use them to reduce the harm that passwords cause.

I’m really proud of this talk and I hope you’ll watch it and share it with others. I put care in to making it approachable while still delivering my perspective and insights to security professionals. If you don’t get the ā€œwhyā€ behind passkeys, this talk will help fill that gap.

@wklj I'm glad we got to go see this in a theater. The soundtrack absolutely needs to be played at movie theater levels and immersion. Can't wait to re-watch now that it's not just available on *checks notes* Mubi.

Tired: "I bet I can #Dockerize that!"
Wired: "I bet I can make an #MCP server for that!"
Inspired: "I bet I can Dockerize that MCP server!"

It's /cgi-bin all over again šŸ˜†

Do you have the ability to write code for Apple platforms? Do you know what MDM / device management is? Do you understand what Compliance is? Do you care about being able to use a Mac or iPad or iPhone for work or school?

Does the idea of dealing with the bugs that can crop up from things like "this needs to be reliably managed like a server, but a human randomly sleeps it mid-process and when it wakes up it's in a different country!" sound interesting to you?

If so - come be my direct co-worker!

Need to be able to be based in/work within the US, but the team itself is fully remote. Multiple positions open.

My favorite use of #ImpulseResponse is still the very simple act of correcting the EQ for whatever collection of headphones one has and the IR wavs from AutoEQ.app are all you need šŸŽ›ļø github.com/jaakkopasanen/AutoE

FIR Filter / On
Pre-Gain: -1.0dB
Actual Delay: ~5.9 ms @1kHz

Impulse resampled

Bose QuietComfort 35 II minimum...
16-bit WAV Stereo 48.0 kHz
Length: 4800 samples

Group Delay: ~65.4 us @1kHz

Suggested Pre-Gain: - 1.0dB

Higher Precision, Slower Processing (64-Bit Math)

Re-sampling: Spectral Match Minimum Phase

The Impulse Response is resampled when it differs from the session's sample rate.

THE WHITE COMMANDS YOU (2003)
Oil on Panel - 28" x 18"

Interior illustration for THE DARK TOWER (book 7) by Stephen King 1/3

#horror #illustration #stephenking #fathercallahan #darktower

Father Callahan, a white haired man with a cross-shaped scar on his forehead, stands atop a table surrounded by vampires and low men. He thrusts his hands upward with a small turtle figurine glowing intensely bright. He is dressed all in black with a pistol tucked in his belt. Bathed in light, his face is etched with determination as his eyes draw to beads. The hideous creatures immediately surrounding him draw back in pain, grasping at their heads in agony with his shouted command. The room behind is lit yellow and orange where a curtain is drawn back and more creatures pile. Above, the light of the turtle radiates in defined white lines that shift the background purple.

@0xamit Stay strong, it’s indeed temporary 😬 In my experience the upside of the sleep deprivation with young kids is that it also causes memory loss and you remember almost nothing about it later on 🤪 Which is also why parents consider having > 1 child at all, I’m convinced.

Every once in a while, our solar system receives a fleeting visitor from the depths of our galaxy. On July 1, 2025, NASA’s ATLAS telescope in Chile discovered Comet 3I/ATLAS, the third known interstellar object ever detected, following Ź»Oumuamua in 2017 and 2I/Borisov in 2019. What makes it interstellar? Its orbit is hyperbolic, meaning it doesn’t loop back around the Sun but instead cuts straight through the solar system on a one-way journey.
