@crypticcelery guess it's a fox thing to always look smug :blobfoxwinkmlem:
@qaris thank you :blobfoxheart:
@crypticcelery yes the attached surface has the most influence but other factors are length and root position/angle on the surface. Also modifiers like noise and clump can be used to hide gaps. The most effective solution really comes down to the type of fur.
I've been on Cara for quite a while, but here's my profile again since more people are joining! Let's meet each other there. 😊
@dipolecat it's 3D hair brush by vfx grace. Adds a lot of the particle hair functionality to the new curve hair system.
@L thank you! Yes it takes some time, especially long fur is very uncooperative by nature :blobfoxlaughsweat:
@crypticcelery it's mostly try a pose and look for strong clipping/bad hair movement due to weights and other random problems.
Here I dislike how straight of a line the bend at the chest creates in the fur, I'd like have a bit more of a diamond shape there.
It's rare to go fully without corrective fixes during animation, as hair tends to magnify all topological distortions, but the more it works out of the box, the less needs to be fixed per animation. :3
@crypticcelery I too hope it causes a lot of stir and gets the theme back on the table.
@Linebyline I'm def not a fan of disney and its practices but do not forget they are sueing cause the output is effective bootleg material. Something humans already can and do get sued for. AI shouldn't be exempt from laws and this lawsuit could finally be the needed push for others to sue too.
Content licensing is another inevitable can of worms which was a problem before AI and is accelerated due to it. There sadly is no good solution and we have to see what comes next.
@smagnusson From what I've heard, the music industry is already looking at that angle. But either lawsuits or fees will probably kill genAI. I cannot see how they will ever cover their costs with the "average" user not wanting to pay at all.
My biggest fear would be horrible bad deals for artists, similar to what's happening in streaming already. But I'd consider this still better than no regulation at all...
Oh, OHHHHH 👀👀👀
Now do OpenAI next.
