Rollenspiel hab ich am liebsten ganz simpel #Cairn #NSR oder ganz kollaborativ #PbtA #DungeonWorld

@edd My theory is that kids up to 8 years old don’t need a ttrpg system. Their parents do though.

That implies the actual question is: What system do you need to play with your kid? 😉

@diffrentcolours @VeryBadLlama The penguins are quite angry now. Huge protests everywhere!

Lots of penguins carrying signs like "No tariffs"

#immersion 😆

@SallyStrange Efficiency is about doing more with less.

We could bring overproduction to people in need but such logistics require resources which are apparently too scarce and more efficiently used elsewhere.

Also, in the last decades world hunger did not get worse despite capitalism being everywhere: ourworldindata.org/hunger-and-

I think the world distributes resources quite efficiently. What you describe is about fairness.

Every government has the power to reduce emissions and poverty. Unfortunately, they want other things more. This is what is failing in my opinion but it is not "capitalism".

@saiki @hart Im Kern liegt es daran, dass "Abgeordneter" kein Job ist, sondern ein Mandat.

2024-12-14

@SallyStrange Yes. What did you do?

2024-12-14

@SallyStrange I think private ownership and markets are incredibly efficient in distributing resources where they are most needed while also giving everybody a lot of freedom to decide by themselves what is most needed.

That said, there are undesirable effects so regulation is necessary. For example, governments must actively redistribute wealth from the rich to the poor.

Capitalism is not failing because it still does what it is supposed to do (first paragraph). Regulators are failing us.

2024-12-14

@SallyStrange For example, Wikipedia writes

> There is no universally agreed upon definition of capitalism; [...] Some doubt that the term "capitalism" possesses valid scientific dignity, and it is generally not discussed in mainstream economics, with economist Daron Acemoglu suggesting that the term "capitalism" should be abandoned entirely.

@SallyStrange I think „capitalism“ is a near meaningless buzzword. Criticizing it can mean all kind of things. That is why I’m asking for clarification.

Of course, my next question is: What exactly do you think is failing now?

2024-12-14

@SallyStrange Ok, then the cure should be to turn private into public ownership.

2024-12-14

@SallyStrange I’m trying to understand what you mean by „capitalism“. If there is no alternative or cure, then everything on Earth is capitalism. Complaining about it is like complaining about gravity.

2024-12-14

@SallyStrange So the intellectually sound approach is we're doomed? The only hope is that someone invents a cure which nobody was able to find so far?
